When AT&T purchased DirecTV I was asked to stay on as a consultant and transition to their Home Automation and Security product, Digital Life. I led the design for key projects and worked with leadership on the product vision for the future of Digital Life products and services. My efforts were split between daily hands-on work and high-level strategic planning. I spearheaded a comprehensive customer research program that utilized multiple methods and tools, both quantitative and qualitative, to unearth valuable customer insights and bring the entire organization closer to our customers through a combination of detailed, actionable designs and direct exposure to our users.

Product & Experience Design

DIRECTV

I led the team that redesigned and delivered the entire suite of apps for their Home Automation and Security service; including iOS, Android, Web, Set-top Box, and a Kiosk app. We balanced the needs of the business with results from extensive user testing to create something that was a vast experience improvement for DirecTV’s customers. It was a unique product that bridged the gap between mobile applications and fixed, in-home platforms like the TV and a dedicated system touchpad. I designed and oversaw various methods of research from an in-depth lab study to guerrilla testing at the local coffee shop. I am always working to balance the day-to-day design work with the nurturing of a great team culture.

Project Highlights: 5-platform simultaneous design, A/B Testing, Storyboarding, Established iterative design process, Product strategy.

Comcast

The result of the project I worked on is a paradigm shift in how Comcast engages with its customers resulting in deeper relationships that offer more personalized experiences for consumers which translates into stronger brand loyalty for the company. I was responsible for the user experience of this critical innovation project that touched virtually all aspects of Comcast's offerings. I was a key contributor in the creation of conceptual models, user interface sketches, and interaction specifications. I was deeply involved in the discovery, strategy, and design of this transformational, cross-platform project. 

Project Highlights: Consumer identity modeling, use case creation, feature mapping, usability testing, user research, insight building, research analysis, information architecture, wireframes, user flows.
