The late Philip Khoury started this company 57 years ago in Abu Dhabi, before the union, before the highways, before real-time tracking, with just one promise: if we say we'll deliver, we deliver.
Three generations later, that promise still stands.

As Managing Director at ADSO, I work alongside a team of 200+ people across 16 offices who share that same commitment. We move goods by land, sea, and air for some of the largest corporations in the region.

For the past 17 years, I've watched this industry transform from paper manifests to digital dashboards, from regional hauls to operations that span continents. The tech changed but our values didn't. 

Our approach is simple. We don't oversell, we don't sugarcoat, we don't promise what we can't deliver. Our clients get reliability, integrity, and transparency.

We handle route optimization, fleet management, and customs processes across borders. We deploy geo-fencing and asset tracking. We build solutions that scale, but what we really do is solve problems.

If we can do it, we do it well.

A client called three years ago with a shipment worth $2.3 million in manufacturing equipment.

Critical deadline. Complex route. High stakes. 

If the equipment didn't arrive on time, their production line would sit idle, costing them $40,000 per day. They asked if we could guarantee delivery by a specific date.

We told them we don't guarantee; we commit. The moment we accepted that shipment, their risk became ours.

This transfer rarely gets discussed in logistics, yet it defines the entire relationship. When a client hands over cargo, they're performing an act of faith. 

A lost shipment means a client under fire.
A damaged component means a factory offline.
A delayed pharmaceutical shipment means a hospital without medication. 

We absorb all of that.

That $2.3 million shipment hit complications at customs. Documentation issue that could have delayed us by four days. We mobilized at 2:00 am, used relationships built over decades, and cleared it from customs through compliant procedures by morning, following all standard protocols. The equipment arrived exactly when we said it would.

This company was founded on handshake deals where your word was the contract. When someone handed you their goods, you carried that responsibility as seriously as the cargo itself.

When we accept a shipment, we're accepting accountability for someone else's success.

The route may change, the stakes may rise, but the standard never does.

We still have a landline at ADSO.

Most people assume it's outdated, a relic we forgot to remove when we upgraded our systems. It’s not forgotten; it’s intentional.

The phone rings differently now than it did years ago. Back then, every call was a person reaching another person. Today, most calls reach algorithms first. 

You navigate menus, wait on hold, leave messages in systems that route your urgency through queue management software. The process is streamlined but the person is missing. 

We’ve decided to prioritize the person.

When a client calls that landline, they reach someone who knows their account, understands their business, and has the authority to make decisions. That direct connection matters. 

ADSO was built on phone calls that led to handshakes. 

Trust develops in conversations, not in confirmation messages. Technology has given us incredible capabilities, but it hasn't replaced the need for a human voice when something critical is at stake.

That landline gets used when clients need it most. When production schedules are at risk, when time-sensitive cargo hits unexpected delays and when someone needs to hear a real voice saying “we’re on it.” 

That landline is a reminder that progress means choosing what to keep, not just what to replace.
