VoiceIQ Ltd.

Responsible for the technology strategy, product architecture, development and delivery of a cloud based multi-tenant product that is in the domain of VoIP, CRM and AI.

Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Collaborate with the co-founders and product director to help in the inception of the VoiceIQ startup and the product.
- Drive the technology road map of VoiceIQ.
- Liaise with VoiceIQ partners and customers to help shape VoiceIQ’s product to solve their problems.
- Build and grow a team of engineering talent.
- Contribute to the development of the platform and user facing mobile and web product.

Bede Gaming Ltd

Responsible for automating various areas of the platform infrastructure and creating internal applications to automate manual processes carried out by the operations and service delivery team.

• Liaising with the Enterprise Architect and Director of Engineering to build standards and patterns based on a tool named Terraform which is being utilised to automate Bede’s platform infrastructure.
• Identifying patterns and approaches to achieve the best solution that fits Bede’s infrastructure provisioning needs.
• Migrating manually built Microsoft Azure infrastructure in Bede’s platform to automated infrastructure builds.
• Liaising with the service delivery team to identify manual repeat processes and automating these using a tool called Rundeck.
• Content Sync project: Syncs content data from production environment back into non-production environments.
• Node Scale project: Used to scale up and down de-allocated and allocated Microsoft Azure virtual machines respectively based on load.

DevOps Engineer

Currently technical lead for the integration services stream which composes of three teams. The stream is responsible for integrating third party software and allowing third party software to communicate with Bede's platform. These products are in the domain of financial gateway providers, fraud and risk evaluators and ad-hoc plugin executions. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Liaise with product owners, project managers and other third party members to achieve client requirements.
• Provide detailed technical solutions and scoping documents to the programme delivery team for client requirements that affects products under the integration stream.
• Analyze problem domains and provide a variety of elegant technical solutions to solve the problem.
• Work with team members to brain storm technical solutions and decide on a single solution.
• Work with the product owners to build road maps for differnt products.
• Assign resources within teams and plan projects.

Technical Lead

Currently leading the integration services team which is responsible for integrating third part software into Bede's platform. These products are in the domain of of financial transactions, risk evaluators and security. 

Prior to leading integration services team, was working on the platform services team developing and maintaining components, frameworks and performing enhancements to core backend services to improve the integration and functionality of components that comprise of a single product owned by the company. 

In addition to the team work, currently a member of the mentor guild carrying out the Bede's incubator program. This program helps graduates and junior developer understand Bede's modern gambling platform and helps enhance thier software developing skills.

Teams function in an agile environment and follows a flexible scrum methodology to achieve targets with ease that utilises the continous delivery process.

• Responsible for liasing with the Product Owner and Tech lead to gather requirements, design implementations identify best patterns for implementation and organise the work required.
• Lead the project that introduces a centralised profile management microservice into the platform. Responsible for planning, designing and implementing the project with a team of four and getting it out into production.
• Responsible for coaching/guiding new members joining the .Net team of Bede Gaming.
• Contributing to the development of a document layer on top of Foundation Db and a management utility for it.
• Developed a common framework to build micro-services and common micro-service clients that can be used within Bede Gaming.
• Contributed to the development of an notification framework which uses an event driven architecture.
• Lead contributor to the development of a component called Common Events Monitor which is a code host within Bede Gaming for executing a small unit of work commonly known as plugins.

Currently a part of the career mentoring programme organized by the Newcastle University career service which enables mentors from organisations across the North East to help students enrolled in the programme to achieve their career goals.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide advice to students on job hunting skills.
• Provide advice and tips on what resources could be used to achieve their career goals.
• Encourage the students confidence, improve communication skills and provide awareness of the skills that are needed to be successful in their chosen career.

- Large Hadron Migrator

Contributing to a product known as Large Hadron Migrator .Net which is a port of the Large Hadron Migrator built by SoundCloud in Ruby. The main aim of the tool is to allow organisations to migrate live databases with tables that grow to millions of records without distrupting any application activity. The tool currently allows migration of MS SQL databases.

- GetStream.io .Net Client

This is a tool that is used to connect with getstream.io service which provides a scaleable activity feed for applications. I use this service for one of the personal projects I am working on and contributed with some bug fixes to the library.

RedHat contribution:

Contributing to a product known as Narayana Transaction Analyser (NTA) by Jboss RedHat. The main contribution is to build a REST API using Java and a sleek web interface using AngularJS. This will enable users of NTA to query and investigate the outputs of the NTA services within its core module.

The REST API is developed using RESTEasy and is combined with other services using CDI (Context and Dependency Injection). In addition the tests are being integrated with the use of Arquillian.

Cloudidentity contribution:

Initiated and contributed to develop a PHP Software Development Kit (SDK) and a authentication demo application using the PHP SDK for CloudIdentity. CloudIdentity specialising in User and Identity management concepts. The PHP SDK enables users to import it as a module to use services provided by CloudIdentity.

Open Source Developer

Specialized in the areas of enterprise distributed programming, transactional systems, system architecture and design, information management and Cloud computing. Gained experience in developing multi-tiered architectural transactional applications using Java EE, SPRING MVC, MySQL and JBoss application server.

Worked on eleven projects (assignments) throughout the master’s course. Most projects were based on enterprise and multi-tier applications. One project in particular was provided by RedHat to demonstrate the use of Java EJB, MySQL, JBoss Application servers and REST architecture. The average score for the eleven projects carried out is 95%.

Dissertation:
Designed and Implemented a new lightweight framework for the execution of High Throughput Computing in the Cloud. The project was called High Throughput Computing – Light (HTC-Light). The framework is designed for execution of resource intensive jobs on cloud services such as Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Service resources such as Elastic Cloud Compute, Simple Storage Service, SimpleDB, Simple Queue Service and Cloud Watch were utilised to make the framework distributed, scalable, robust and reliable.  The framework has the capability to perform job and cloud resource management, monitoring of cloud resources, balancing job loads and setting different policies according to the user requirements.

The framework design is based on the REST architecture that brings about loose coupling and scalability features. The framework architecture is flexible and extensible as it is able to interact with different or multiple cloud vendors.
