After joining the IT Outsourcing industry in 1994 I have spent my whole career looking at design, implementation, delivery, sales and commercial management of IT and Telecoms Services contracts ranging from the very small to the significant in size.  

Of particular note is a focus on how to build and maintain partnerships, be they between Clients and Service Providers, Vendors and Service Providers or between Service Providers themselves, to best service the business need of a particular sector or solution.

For sales managers in their first year of tenure and others needing some inspiration, I'm publishing a podcast series entitled Surviving and Thriving in Sales Management.

Surviving and Thriving in Sales Management

On 23 April we have Solent University, Lightcast and Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP representatives discussing how AI will impact leadership, HR and Employment practices as part of the next TechSolent event.  There is a lot of discussion around the technology, but very little discussion around how we could integrate it into the workforce from a people perspective, so this will extend people's understanding of what is looking like a more and more inevitable future. 21st Century Leadership: Where Artificial Intelligence Meets Emotional Intelligence | TechSolent

I’m not sure this is a procurement problem - most cloud contracts offer flexibility of consumption - I think the issue is architecture in that unless you use the cloud for portable / native apps you are locked in due to complexity of migration.  

Also, a lot of gov contracts are driven by a stupid “cloud first” mandate, that doesn’t consider the architectural consequences.  Gov are putting things in the cloud that shouldn’t be there and wondering why it’s expensive and inflexible.

Meanwhile cloud vendors just sit and rub their hands with glee.
