MyNoke provides organic waste collection for a range of businesses and organisations and processes around 150,000t of waste per year, operates three worm farm sites (Taupo, Ohakune and Tokoroa) and has 30+ staff.

I began in the business with the challenge of turning it around from a period of poor performance.

Reviewed business performance, led development of new strategies, and managed negotiation with banks, customers and suppliers to ensure a solid business platform was established to ensure a sustainable future for the business and established a governance structure and Board of Directors and a reporting dashboard for the Board.

Key Achievements
• Grew sales over 200% in under two years and successfully filled the role of sales manager
• Created substantial opportunities for future growth with $30m+ worth of sales awaiting new sites
• Grew the team from 9 to 31 in line with strong business growth
• Negotiated several large contracts with customers such as councils and large corporates and finalised two agreements with Pulp Mills which had previously been in discussions for 5+ years
• Led expansion of worm farming sites from three to having 10 new sites the company is set to start following successful negotiations with a wide range of stakeholders, including iwi.
• Led a significant improvement in culture and morale and reduced a staff turnover rate from 80% to almost zero
• Created HR strategies such as Ako MyNoke, a training programme that resulted in strong staff engagement, the MyNoke Way which recognized staff via team rewards, fundraising activities and other morale boosting initiatives
• Managed an investment program which brought in $2.4 million in less than one day
• Imported key machinery at a fraction of the cost which reduced capital expenditure
• Award Winner - Sustainability and People’s Choice | Waikato Chamber of Commerce​2022
Liaised with Central Government & Ministers to ensure MyNoke was part of the solution.
