Super Ultra’s vision is one where Web3 is made relevant to the real world. This means bending the technology to solve real problems rather than bending the problems to fit the mechanics of Web3 and losing product market fit, which has been one of the primary issues in the industry to date. 

Whereas the industry has focused to date on using Web3 as the on-ramp, Super Ultra believe the real application of Web3 should be after the acquisition, used as a tool to energise customer engagement, retention and loyalty, and this is where Super Ultra’s activities are focused. 

Our JV, Skysurfer Games, creates hypercasual mobile games for airlines. This is our immediate revenue push, but more importantly (and strategically) this puts us in the room with the most valuable loyalty programs in the world while we build…

Meed, our unified loyalty-as-a-service platform that uses Web3 capabilities to reinvent customer longtail marketing, especially for SMEs who traditionally rely on simple email list or even physical stamp cards, which don’t exactly produce reams of data. 

Super Ultra also provides services to third-party companies building smart contracts, web and mobile apps, and in-game design and assets. The revenue from these services has enabled us to fund the development of our IP, although we are now looking for outside investment to accelerate development.

Losing a customer hurts, even when it isn’t really about you.

We just had our first paid cancellation after a full year in market. The business is closing down, but they took the time to tell us they actually loved using meed and found the whole experience seamless.

There goes my "zero percent churn" claim.

The truth is, churn was always coming. If you never lose an account, you’re either not charging enough or you aren't growing fast enough.

Part of our strategy is building meed to be "hard to leave" from a technical standpoint. But yesterday, I realised what I’m actually aiming for: building something people are genuinely sad to leave.

There are different types of churn, of course. Losing someone to a competitor is a product warning; losing someone because their doors are closing is just a reality of life.

You can’t design a loyalty platform that shields independent retailers from the economy. You can only design one that makes every trading day they do have more valuable.

There was a silver lining, though. We reached out and we listened. Out of a cancellation, we earned a heartfelt testimonial. To me, that’s a vital data point proving the platform works for real people running real shops.

So, onwards.

We’re protecting the mission, not the vanity metrics. Zero churn was a nice story, but honest retention is a much better one.

Independent retailers live with risk every day. If meed helps them enough that they choose to stay until their very last day of trading, that’s the kind of success worth building on.

Investors will absolutely Google you - so I let an AI do it first.

After reading Stephane Nasser’s post about cleaning up your online presence before raising, I realised I’d never really looked at myself the way an investor (or their tools) would. So I fed “Phil Ingram” into Perplexity, clarified that I’m not the very accomplished security expert and holder of a prestigious MBE, Philip I. and hit go.​

I was genuinely nervous. Thirty years online across travel, tech, publishing and now loyalty is a lot of history to surface at once. Here’s what came back, in plain English:​

1️⃣  The public story is coherent: founder & CEO of meed in Hong Kong, building a loyalty platform for independent businesses and events, with press, Web Summit appearances and ecosystem pieces that line up.​​

2️⃣  The backstory mostly checks out: previous exit from a web agency, senior roles in travel and Web3, leading into what we’re doing with meed now.​

3️⃣  No red flags: no scandals, no angry threads, no “uh oh” surprises – just a few posts where I openly talk about mistakes (like our early MVP and payments decisions), which actually read as evidence of course‑correction rather than chaos.​

The AI’s “advice” was basically:

🚀  Keep everything aligned – LinkedIn, website, deck, conference bios should all tell the same simple story: Phil, meed, loyalty, Hong Kong.​

💹  Strengthen social proof so that googling me increasingly surfaces customer outcomes, case studies, and partner wins, not just my own words.​

🧠  Lean into thoughtful content over noise – the best‑performing pieces are the ones where there’s an actual idea about loyalty or Web3, not generic founder talk.​

Doing this made something very clear: “inevitability” isn’t only product and metrics; it’s also the narrative that emerges when you’re not in the room and a machine stitches together everything it can find.​

In my case, I’m relieved the story is pretty close to the founder I think I am and the company we’re building. There’s work to tighten it, but the foundations are solid.

If you’re raising, I’d seriously recommend the same uncomfortable exercise: let something that doesn’t care about your feelings tell you what the internet thinks is true about you – and then decide, deliberately, what you want it to say next.

Investors WILL google you. That's as sure as death and taxes.

Here's how to sanitize your online presence before raising. 

1️⃣ Clean up your online presence

A bad Google result can kill your credibility. Google yourself and your co-founders. If there's anything embarrassing on page 1, address it or bury it with fresh content.

Then, do the same with ChatGPT. 

2️⃣ Align your LinkedIn profiles with your pitch deck

Investors cross-check your deck against LinkedIn. If your CTO isn't listed as such on LinkedIn, it may look like they're not committed or you're inflating roles. 

Make sure every co-founder's LinkedIn shows them as employees of your startup, with the same title as listed in your deck. (Exceptions apply: stealth startups, etc)

3️⃣ Have a working website and email

No website = you're not serious. Plus, many founders misconfigure SPF/DKIM and emails never reach them. Every week, I see investor replies bounce off misconfigured inboxes. Sad!

At least, set up a simple landing page (use Carrd, Webflow, or even a Notion page). Get a business email with Google Workspace - it's $6/mo and you're sure it works. 

🎁 Bonus: Keep political and religious opinions off your public profile. Some people may disagree, but that's my honest advice.

I did something dangerous and had a think about where loyalty is really heading for consumers.​

Heavily bulleted, it's something like:

1️⃣ The stamp card era is over

🚾 Paper and single‑business apps haven’t just aged; they actively leak revenue through lost cards and forgotten logins.​
​
🧟‍♀️ Over half of loyalty memberships sit dormant, representing eye‑watering lost value for both brands and independents.​
​
2️⃣ Loyalty has shifted from earn & burn to feel & belong

♥️ Points and discounts are now table stakes; emotional and experiential rewards are what actually move the needle.​

🍸 The brands winning in 2026 focus on status, access, community and recognition, not just buy 9, get 1 free.​

3️⃣ Data is the fuel, but identity is the constraint

☠️ GDPR/CCPA and rising privacy expectations mean hoarding personal data is both risky and increasingly unwelcome.​

💹 The smart play is shifting from “Who are you?” to “What are you trying to do right now?”—behaviour over biography.

4️⃣ The real UX problem: consumers are drowning in loyalty clutter

🥱 Too many cards, too many logins, too many retailer apps for too little value; hence loyalty fatigue and churn.

⛔ If joining or redeeming isn’t genuinely effortless, customers simply opt out, no matter how good the reward design looks on paper.

5️⃣ Networks beat silos especially for independents

🏦 Enterprise programmes can afford heavy apps, deep integrations and giant data stacks; independents can’t.​

🌐 A shared, consumer‑centric loyalty network lets small businesses tap into “big‑brand‑level” insight and discovery without big‑brand budgets.​

6️⃣ Invisible loyalty is becoming the new gold standard

💵 The best loyalty now rides inside behaviours customers already have: tap to pay, scan a QR, open a wallet pass – no extra app, no new habit.​

🙋‍♂️ When it works, the customer barely notices the tech; they just feel remembered, rewarded and welcomed back.​

7️⃣ Behavioural, anonymised data is the real unlock

🚦 You don’t need to know someone’s full life story to serve them well; you need high‑quality signals about how, when and where they engage.​
