We had a goal of creating a community of specialized tax professionals who make up the agile workforce so businesses who don't currently have such relationships can find quality tax specialists (i.e. international, state & local, etc.)  to provide assistance on a specific project or as needed basis.. Essentially creating a virtual tax department staffed by totally independent tax professionals.  

Was it a good idea?  It seems to depend on who you asked.  Our business contacts liked the idea of having flexibility and scalability.  Even small accounting firms liked the idea of being more easily able to find tax specialists that could work with them on a project basis rather than having to make permanent investments. 

Doesn't every business deserve their own tax department?  I guess it depends on who you ask.
