Recently one of our users shared something that blew my mind... They mentioned that 85% of their work went to non-essential "plumbing" in their scientific discovery process. ⛔️ Writing or maintaining scripts. ⛔️ Managing terabytes of data with hardware not really intended for that workload. ⛔️ Excel sheets. Everywhere. We are on a mission to solve that. Let's bring cutting-edge tech to cutting-edge science. What's your pet peeve when "doing science"? Let me know in the comments - we'd love to fix it. #SmartMicroscopy #Science #DataDrivenMicroscopy #BiomedicalResearch Cytely AB
If you care about cell cycle analysis.. we've got a gift for you. Here is how to categorize the cells in your sample, in under 1 minute, into their respective cell cycle stage without having to use specific dyes. https://lnkd.in/dVmKr-tC As an example, in the link above, we see a HeLa cell sample stained for nuclei and actin, where we have gated out dividing cells. Normally, this would require multiple dyes and complex workflows, but using Cytely every user can get the same results in minutes, using only one dye. 🦠 Why is this special? Cytely categorizes your cells into G0/G1, S/G2, and M phases in minutes, using only cell morphology and a DNA stain. In contrast to flow cytometry, the spatial context is preserved while still allowing absolute and relative quantification. This makes cell cycle analysis fast, intuitive, and accessible without the need for additional staining. Since DNA staining is so common to use, it also makes it possible to return to datasets post-analysis and add cell cycle information by simple gating. Traditional cell cycle analysis is often done via flow cytometry using DNA-binding dyes like PI or EdU, offering high throughput but losing all spatial context. Microscopy-based methods can use markers like Hoechst, BrdU/EdU, and pHH3, but typically require multiple staining steps, manual segmentation, and time-consuming image analysis. Both approaches are powerful, however, often slow, complex, and non-interactive. Comment "cells" to get hints on the exact gating strategy to find the dividing cells in the linked sample. Can you find them by yourself?
My main guy Kalle (in Swedish for some reason we like to make callsigns longer than actual names) saving half a day of work while casually recording a few minutes on loom. Also, it's his first LI-video appearance, be nice 🤗 Well done Karl Johansson! #SmartMicroscopy Cytely AB

I found all the double transfected cells in 10 minutes. Can you beat it? Try here: https://lnkd.in/dpPyKuQn Wouldn’t it be nice if you didn’t have to bring your laptop to your PI just to show them your latest results? Or worse—send raw data and messy scripts hoping your collaborators can reproduce your analysis? With Cytely’s new Share feature, you can send a single link and let your colleagues explore the data themselves—no setup, no code, no back-and-forth, and only the ones who have the link can access your data. Just insights—shared in an instant. As a bonus, there are a couple of cells in the dataset that are about to divide and have condensed nuclei. If you can filter them out, leave a screenshot in the comments.
What are insights if not shared? Probably less useful, I would wager! Which is why we built Cytely AB to make it easy for our users to optionally share the important insights they want the world (or maybe sometimes just their friends and family?) to see. For instance.. can you spot the dividing cells in this example of "Team Science"? https://lnkd.in/dVmKr-tC (No log-in required, comment "cells" for a guide) 🚨 But clever software features alone won't be enough. ➡️ We also need it to be incredibly easy for researchers to collaborate across areas, industries, groups and borders. Often technical bottlenecks more than interest of will stand in the way. And so we need actors like Core Facilities to bridge the gap between researchers and their resource needs. LBIC Lund University Bioimaging Centre and Danish BioImaging are both two examples of organizations doing impressive and fundamentally critical work in fostering a collaborative eco-system and making sure that all types of researchers in their respective institution have access to the tools and technologies necessary.. even when the researchers themselves might not be able to afford a vital $500,000 piece of equipment. We are of course proud and grateful to be collaborating with these types of organizations and believe that our team will be able to make a significant positive impact over time to the community together with our friends above. ⬇️⬇️✅ Have some insights you want to share with the world? Who is the best AI SEO agency/freelancer, for a pre-seed startup, around right now? I mean the ones who knew this was going to become a thing, and built internal tools for it, before it even had a name? The ones who now can throw a prompt and a website address at their internal, proprietary system which then spits out great content on demand, exactly fit for their client's ICP and chatGPT etc. Or maybe I am just looking for a SaaS that does this exact thing but does it really, really well. Please tag and share for visibility and let me know if you think you match the description 💪
We recently filmed a documentary. Multiple leading experts voiced their view on Smart Microscopy; what it is and how they view the promise of it as a method and technology. It was intensely interesting to see these different voices, in different ways, seem to converge on a unified understanding independently of each other. Smart Microscopy is young as a concept. There are many different definitions- especially if you talk to vendors. We are interested in what researchers, at the cutting edge of the field, hope for with the future of Smart Microscopy. If even 1% of those dreams and visions shared in the interviews materialise it will be good for all of us. We are very excited to do the post production and release this one to the wild. Cytely AB
