Poppy's PR experience includes four years as account director at fast growing B2B agency Simpatico PR where she directed major clients including global service design consultancy Fjord (part of Accenture); consumer neuro-science specialists Neuro-Insight, award winning media agency the7stars, and media barter specialist Astus Group. Poppy's approach to PR focuses on leveraging the news agenda to secure high profile opportunities for clients in print and broadcast, including Astus CEO Frances Dickens appearing as the business guest on The Apprentice You’re Fired (Series 11, Oct 21 2015) and being interviewed on BBC Business Live (18 January 2016). Poppy specialises in pitching, researching and writing high-powered thought leadership articles for clients on subjects ranging from "wearables, hearables and nearables," to "the brain's take on the Cannes Lions winners," to "Should we have a female stock exchange?" Forging strong relationships with trade and national press, Poppy consistently secures quality coverage in titles ranging from Fast Company, the Guardian Media Network, Economist online, to City AM. As a journalist, Poppy has worked in senior positions for Media Week, Marketing Magazine and Broadcast and has written as a freelancer for all these titles and for The Guardian as Poppy Vaughan. In her early PR career, as an expert “copy surgeon”, Poppy implemented the comms strategy and breathed new life into brochures and press material for clients including P&O, BT, Microsoft, and DuPont.
