When I started travelling alone, I realised that our spaces in the travel industry are not designed for inclusion and that is the core of all the work I do. To design a better tomorrow, I pivoted my career from Accounting to Travel, and now am a diversity trainer and strategist. In simpler words, I train people to be more inclusive in the travel industry with a focus on women. Utilising my wide experience of interacting, collecting, and documenting solo female traveller's experiences, I bring inclusion to reality via four main roles: ⚡ Training – I have trained students, executives, travel professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs across USA, India, Denmark and Canada. I use my experience of interacting with diverse audiences to design experiential and engaging training sessions for both virtual and live audiences. ⚡Consulting – With my experience of contributing to the Gender Report for Women in Tourism for Asia and the Pacific (UNWTO) and evaluation report of an international agency (this was confidential! Sssshhh!), I bring my expertise in working with global teams on high-level policy formation and evaluation to the table. ⚡Teaching – I believe in working today for a better tomorrow, and I engage with students to prepare them for building an inclusive workplace. I have designed and delivered India’s first inclusion-focused course module at Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal. I have also been invited for lectures at Washington State University and Florida Atlantic University among others. ⚡ Research – Being a researcher at heart, I am an editorial board member for Tourism Management Perspectives and Asian Tourism Research. Currently, I am also editing a special issue for Tourism Recreation Research on empowering marginalised voices in tourism. (For people who don’t know, these all are international academic journals.😉) ⚡ Mentorship – To give back what I have got and built; I am part of multiple mentorship programs which assist participants in building their future. I am a listed mentor at RMIT University, Viet Nam, and coach mentees in my personal capacity to build a life they desire. My content on LinkedIn is a mix of different topics but mainly focuses on DEI in travel. I also host a lot of conversations around navigating academia and career in general. For all things, diversity, inclusion, research, and discussions in travel or mentorship, reach out to me and let’s explore how I can assist you in your journey!
