Design Engineer

Mitie

As part of the Mitie Group, Custom solar LTD design, install and maintain commercial solar projects across the UK. 

•	Preparing G99 applications following the standard requirements by different DNOs and code of practice. 
•	Design MW-scale commercial solar rooftops, carports, ground mount system, BESS, and EV charging systems. 
•	Produce design drawings such as roof layout, string codes, electrical SLD’s, access layout, inverter layout, cable management, and detailed report using AutoCAD software following the right standards.
•	Communicate with relevant stakeholders throughout the design process. 
•	Support other design engineers. 
•	Knowledge of BS7671 18th edition wiring regulations.
•	Using software such as PVSOL, PVSyst, SolarEdge Designer to get yield and shading report, and ElectricalOM for cable size calculations.
•	Understanding and following RAMS, CPP’s and other H&S documents
•	Carry out site surveys alongside other design engineers, BDM and PM.

Graduate Design Engineer

Staffordshire University

•	I created a Telegram group and used my social media platforms, to bring in prospective student to Staffordshire University. 
•	Actively involved in the removing of English language requirements for Nigerian students after having several meetings with the admissions team.
•	Created a post on LinkedIn about Staffordshire University with over 120k views and that brought about increase in prospective students.
•	I give advice and help answer questions about UK student visa and Staffordshire University.
•	I act between prospective student and Staffordshire University by relating challenges to school. 
•	Fix meetings with school to discuss students challenges and suggest ways to resolve them.

As the valedictorian, I gave a speech on behalf of the graduating cohort and reflected on our student journey throughout the academic year. 

One of the favourite statements of my speech is “To the graduating class of 2022, I believe that our goals and aspirations will no longer be seen as mere ideologies but will be a reality soon. Do not be afraid to try out new things; keep pushing and aim for the best, but in doing so, don’t lose yourself and the relationships you have built.”
