Left two new jobs in five months.

And no, it wasn’t part of the plan.

I really thought i’d stay.
I really wanted to.

I mailed the founders, did the tasks, got excited to join.
and then it just didn’t feel right anymore.

I know you’d say, brother what?
Honestly, i was the same with myself.

Because deep down, i knew i wanted to be somewhere else.

Doing something else.
Being someone else.

And that’s the part no one talks about.
When you’re grateful but still confused.
Learning but still lost.

I learned a lot in those months.
But i also knew i wasted the employer’s time.
they trained me, trusted me,
and i couldn’t give my best.

In those moments, you just sit there
not knowing what to do
what to say
what to feel.

Now it’s been 5 months.
i’m still figuring myself out.
trying things. learning things. doing things.

And maybe that’s the point.
Maybe this phase isn’t about having answers,
it’s about learning to stay patient while you find them.

Zoho didn’t raise a dollar. And today it makes more profit than most funded unicorns dream of.


1996. Sridhar Vembu could’ve stayed in the US after his Princeton PhD.

He was at Qualcomm . Life was set.

Instead, he came back.
To Chennai.

Started AdventNet with his brothers in a small apartment.

The idea? Build software for telecoms.

Then the internet wave hit.

They pivoted. Launched Zoho. One app, then another.

Today? More than 55 apps. CRM, Books, Cliq, Zoho One.

And 100 million users across the globe.

Here’s the part that makes it crazier:

No funding.
Zero outside investors.
Yet in FY23, Zoho clocked ₹8,703 crore in revenue. ₹2,836 crore in profit.

Most unicorns can’t even get to profit.
Zoho got there without burning cash, without chasing valuations.

But this isn’t just about numbers.

Sridhar Vembu runs Zoho from a village near Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu.

He literally moved the HQ away from Chennai to bring jobs and tech training to rural India.

Today, Zoho hires from local colleges, trains from scratch, and builds world-class products in small towns.

Meanwhile, global giants compete to poach their engineers.

Zoho quietly keeps shipping.

And maybe this is the bigger question we should all be asking:

Is ambition really about how much money you raise?

Or about how far you can go without it?

India’s battery revolution started with one man, a remote village, and a crazy dream.

Back in the 1980s, when India Inc. was still chasing licenses and imports, a man named Dr. Ramachandra N Galla came back from the US to his hometown near Tirupati.

The place? Karakambadi. 

A small dusty village with power cuts so bad that half the time even light bulbs wouldn’t stay on.

And that’s where he decided: “I’ll build batteries here.”

 Not in Hyderabad. Not in Chennai. In Karakambadi.

Everyone thought he was mad. No roads. No infrastructure. Forget global ambitions, even running a factory looked impossible.

But he pulled it off. He started Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd in 1985. First industrial batteries. 

Then, the Amaron brand in 2000, which you still see on highways and car workshops everywhere.

Today?
 → ₹10,000+ crore revenue.
 → Exporting across 50+ countries.
 → One of the biggest rivals to Exide, a company decades older.
 → Millions of batteries powering cars, bikes, telecom towers, UPS systems.

All from a village that most people in India still haven’t heard of.

And here’s what blows my mind:

Amara Raja didn’t just bring jobs and money. It transformed Karakambadi. Roads, schools, hospitals, everything followed the factory.

It’s the opposite of the “big city builds big business” story.

Here, the business built the town.

Another day, another AI flex, this one just cleared the CFA in minutes.

Models like OpenAI’s o4-mini, Anthropic's Claude Opus, DeepSeek’s R1, and Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash used “chain-of-thought prompting” and nailed the essay-heavy Level III. 

Think about that.

The CFA is considered the gold standard in investment credentials.
A human takes months, sleepless nights, mock tests, and revisions.

And now AI does it in minutes.
This doesn’t mean AI is human.

AI still can’t get the CFA charter; you need 4,000 hours of experience, references, and real-world work. 

But man, it changes the narrative.

What does this mean?

The bar for professional knowledge is rising. If machines can memorize, reason, and synthesize, then humans have to bring insight, context, and judgment.

Roles in finance may shift faster than we expect. If AI takes care of diagnosis, analysts, risk models, the edge will be in creativity, narrative, and moral sense.

For those preparing for finance certificates, it throws a question: Are credentials enough? Or do you also need something machines can’t replicate, empathy, ethics, understanding ambiguity?

The institutions (CFA Institute, universities) must rethink exams, assessment, real-world evaluation, which they're absolutely doing it.

Overall, I don’t have answers. But here’s what I’m convinced of:

Certifications matter less when machines can learn the material.

What will matter more is your ability to make sense, to lead, to decide when all signals conflict.
