Manage, investigate a case load consisting of complex coverage and liability issues involving both  non attorney and attorney represented serious injury claims for personal automobile policies in FL, IN, KY, LA and AL . Review medical records and bills then evaluate/negotiate injury claims fairly and equitably based on the damages as well as the insurance contract and in accordance to company policies and applicable state laws. Maintain proper reserves on all pending claims.

 Identify potential suspicious claims and refer to SIU and identify opportunities for third party subrogation. Communicate with policyholders, witnesses and claimants in order to gather information regarding claims, refer tasks to auxiliary resources as necessary, and advise as to proper course of action.  Respond to various written and telephone inquiries including status reports. Provide excellent customer service not only to our outside customers but also to other departments within the company. Maintain current diary on all claims and review and address mail as outlined in departmental goals.

Handled investigations on contestable claims; prepare/send correspondence to certificate holders, claimants, legal staff and medical facilities for records. Approve and process incontestable claims via the claims payment system (LSP). Review medical records and recommend payment or denial of contestable claims. Possess knowledge of related legal principals and tax requirements for all states.
