Prof. Dr. Phoebe Koundouri, a world renowned pioneer in innovative, human-centric, interdisciplinary systems for the sustainable interaction between nature, society, and the economy. Holds MPhil and PhD in Economics from University of Cambridge, held academic positions at University of Cambridge, University College London, University of Reading, London School of Economics. She has published 19 monographs and edited books, more than 400 scientific papers (and 200 articles in public press) in Nature, the Lancet, top ranked economics, econometrics and sustainability science journals. Co-edited several prestigious academic journals, including Nature: Climate Action and Environmental and Resources Economics. Organized >70 international scientific conferences, supervised >30 PhD students, gave keynote speeches and public lectures across the world. 2019 elected President of European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) and since 2023 chairing World Council of Environmental and Natural Resource Economists Associations (WCEREA). Founder and Chair Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aeiphoria (AE4RIA), linking 5 research centers, 5 innovations accelerators and numerous science-policy networks, with >200 researchers and >100 large interdisciplinary competitively funded projects (with applications in >120 countries). Chair of UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Global Climate Hub and co-chair of SDSN Europe (2000 universities involved).
