Things I wish I knew when I first started lead generation:

- Lookalike leads are gold. They look like your best customers.
- You can find them by analyzing existing customer data.
- Not every lead will convert—and that's OK.
- Each interaction teaches you more about finding the right leads.

Lookalike leads can greatly improve your targeting and conversion rates.

Start by understanding your current customers' profiles, then use that insight to identify and attract new ones who share those characteristics.

Things I wish I knew when I first started generating leads

My leads’ activation process from start to finish in 9 steps:


Get clean data.

Identify where users disengage.

Search in the user journey where friction prevents activation.

Segments based on their actions and preferences.

Formulate potential improvements to this step for each segment.

Conduct A/B tests to determine the effect on activation rates.

Review the data to determine which changes significantly enhance activation.

Collect user feedback to understand their experience.

"How to track the success of my lead reactivation campaigns?"

I have been asked this question a lot lately.

So, I dove into the data.👇
- Initially, I looked at open rates and click-through rates.
- Then, I measured the conversion rate from re-engaged leads.
- Finally, I analyzed the increase in customer lifetime value from reactivated leads.

My findings are simple:
- Open rates and click-through rates give early indicators of interest.
- Conversion rates tell us how effective our messaging is.
- Increased customer lifetime value shows the long-term impact of reactivation.

Lead reactivation goes beyond sending a simple email to a cold lead.

Re-engagement is key.

In March, I spoke with several CMOs

I was surprised by the reactions from peers and colleagues…

“I don’t know how to show the impact of my strategies.”
“Salespeople take full reward for customer signature.”
“People keep telling me that the lists I send aren't qualified.”

Despite these concerns, the results spoke for themselves.

Initially, the feedback made me question our approach, but then I realized two crucial things:

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴'𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲: Marketing's value isn't instantly apparent but develops through sustained brand building and trust.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗽: Enhancing cooperation across teams, especially with sales, helps demystify marketing's role. Regular sharing of insights fosters a shared appreciation for how marketing strategies prepare the ground for sales success.

Remember:

Even so, facing doubts and criticisms, it's crucial to stay true to your vision, especially when you believe in the effectiveness of your approach.

Best advice for reactivating sleeping leads?

Reactivating sleeping leads is less about increasing the volume of communication and more about re-establishing a connection based on trust.
