THEURBANADVOCATE.COM is a website designed to help give exposure to the newest and the brightest talent. We are interested in working with artist of all forms and genres. From music to visual arts, from literature to film, from theater to fashion, modeling to dancing; The Urban Advocate wants to work with them all. The Urban Advocate would also like to create a place for businesses, new technologies and events to be introduced to the uninformed. Not to mention our interest in working with community organizations, leaders and activists to help raise the consciousness of the people.

Director of Marketing

With over a decade of marketing experience, I specialize in marketing operations, account-based marketing, and performance marketing. I am currently a Sr. Consultant MOps + ABM at Compound Growth Marketing (CGM), where I help B2B SaaS businesses achieve better outcomes and drive revenue growth through data-driven demand systems.

I have managed advertising budgets and agencies in excess of $2M per quarter, and I have domain expertise in Martech, Sales Productivity, and Business Intelligence. I have also earned multiple certifications in HubSpot Marketing Hub, HubSpot Sales Hub, and Marketing Communications. I am passionate about leveraging technology to improve marketing outcomes, and I enjoy building strong relationships with agencies, optimizing campaigns, and contributing to the success of any organization that I am a part of.

When I have students asking me how to get started in Marketing, as an Ops person I tell them to get familiar with a Marketing Automation platform and a CRM system. 

⁉ - If they ask me which specific ones, I tell them Hubspot or Marketo for MAP and SalesForce for CRM.

Entry-level marketers who have a familiarity with systems and data will grow exponentially within the first 5 years of their careers because these skills are becoming non-negotiable as companies are looking to become more efficient. 

Interesting data…breaking news…we spend a lot of time on our phones 😂 

I love data, especially when it comes to social trends. 

We are increasingly reliant on our phones and social media has become a significant part of our daily lives. 

Knowing how people engage and the types of things they are engaging with and where is becoming more relevant. Marketers need to layer these things in when mapping out the buyers journey and designing campaigns.
