I produce and host the weekly series 'Coffee and Faith' on Rhema FM 99.7 - an inspirational coaching segment which provides practical strategies and business advice. I Also host and co-produce the “Life on God’s terms”
Podcast. 

I feature as a regular guest host on Rhema FM offering insight into the media industry, cultural commentary and encouragement from a faith perspective.

Volunteer role: Board Member for the LiveFree Project, a non-for-profit organisation in Newcastle, Australia that provides support, resources and counselling to families going through domestic violence. 

I advise on media strategy, marketing, messaging, conduct media training and strategic direction for the organisation.

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust

My role was to protect and enhance the reputation of the Trust externally, and promote the various initiatives and successes that the Trust is responsible for. This was achieved through liaising with local and national media, managing interviews with senior executives, briefing journalists, writing media releases and managing corporate social media accounts and managing highly sensitive media reputational issues for the Trust. 

I also lead on a number of  campaigns  which  challenge stigma and discrimination around mental health which included: bringing journalists on ward sites, briefing media and creating and hosting an in-house podcast to promote better understanding of both mental health and Trust initiatives. 

My remit included deputising for the Director of Communications regularly and dealing with highly sensitive issues which require liaising with national media, senior management and NHS  stakeholders and managing junior members of the team.

Communications Manager

London Ambulance Service

I worked at the NHS London Ambulance Service as a Media and Campaigns manager on a contract role. The role involved media relations, crisis and issues management, public awareness campaigns, and line managing a busy media team and press office. I deputised regularly for the Head of Media and Campaigns and lead on strategic communications and corporate media issues as they arise.  This role also involves  overseeing campaigns for the Service, including international recruitment, public health campaigns, and collaborating with the Department of Health on national issues. I managed projects across internal, external and stakeholder teams and regularly liaise with executive board members on sensitive media issues.

Media and Campaigns Manager

BBC News

I worked within the BBC news publicity team to proactively promote the programmes: Panorama, Question Time and the 6 and 10 news bulletins as well as deal with media queries and criticism of BBC news coverage, which involves dealing with media issues at various levels of executive management. I also manage the PR for major factual programming. 

My most recent achievement was managing the PR campaign for BBC’s news election network broadcast on May 7. This included pitching interviews and stories to a range of UK media, liaising with talent and network executives, providing briefing notes, managing sensitive issues around talent and network announcements. This campaign resulted in significant coverage across 15 media outlets and strong viewership figures for BBC election results programme.

I was also a member of the Communications team that organised and facilitated the media spin room for two BBC network election debates during the  2015 General Election campaign. 


News Publicist (Contract Role)

Hacked Off

I worked with the campaign group Hacked Off as their Interim Communications Manager on a three month contract.This role included handling media queries, writing media releases and blog posts as well as managing the Hacked Off website and social media pages.

I independently managed the media campaign for the launch of IPSO  (Independent Press Standards Organisation) which resulted in news coverage across mainstream outlets including: television, online, newspaper and radio outlets including: The Guardian, BBC, Today, and ITN.

I also proactively pitched interviews and profile pieces with the new Executive Director and influenced external media to include quotes or interviews with our stakeholders on relevant stories about the hacking scandal.

Interim Communications Manager  (Contract Role)

Australian Broadcasting Corporation

As a senior member of the media communications team, I undertook multi-platform marketing and communications campaigns to promote ABC content in alignment with the ABC Charter. I liaised with external media, presenters and senior management and also produced and executed communication strategies. One of my proudest achievements was working on the Australian Federal Election in 2014, as well as managing numerous other factual, news and entertainment programmes.

I worked as a researcher /associate producer for the current affairs forum program INSIGHT, which is hosted by Jenny Brockie. Shows which I worked on included: Sexual harassment, The Science of Attraction and Hung Parliament. This role included: finding and researching case studies, pitching stories, interviewing talent, producing fact sheets, fact checking, audience liaison, assisting producers with story structure, managing guests and talent, and updating/sourcing online content for each show ( including facebook and twitter

Associate Producer

Programs worked on included: Insight, World News Australia, Cutting Edge documentaries and Global Village. I developed and managed relationships with: television presenters, executive management and external media. I acted as a spokesperson for news programs, and liaised with producers about different angles to pitch their programs.

Communications Specialist

A seasoned communications leader with global expertise across media, marketing and communications. My career has spanned television, health policy and election campaigns. I have led press teams, managed national and global campaigns and headed crisis communications for a number of organisations in the media, government and healthcare space.
