Fruition means to fulfil a project or plan and that's what I want to help you do. Fruition for Business is a small business run by myself, Rachel, Business Coach, Mentor, Strategist, Partner & Unicorn. I help business owners with ADHD, busy brains or who are neurodivergent take action and fulfill their plans & goals. This is so they can have more freedom and flexibility in their life.

Diverse Abilities

Diverse Abilities is Dorset’s disability charity supporting children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities across the county since 1955. 

My role as Corporate & Community Fundraiser is to maximise fundraising income within Dorset through corporate and community audiences, maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters and building a network of new support.

This includes researching, applying and managing successful Charity of the Year adoptions, from all types of businesses. Which includes delivering presentations, applications and maintaining ongoing relationships. 

Working with the Corporate & Community Manager on fundraising campaigns including Christmas tree collections and Sing to Raise. 

Manage and help produce the charity's Christmas card.

Deliver a growing a programme of counter-top collecting tins, bucket collections and street collections.

Actively encourage supporters to run their own events and activities in aid of Diverse Abilities, and support ‘in aid of’ fundraisers with materials and advice to maximise income 

Recruit, support and manage all community volunteers for Diverse Abilities.

Corporate & Community Fundraiser

ICAEW

The ICAEW has over 140,000 members worldwide. Through its technical knowledge, skills and expertise, the ICAEW provides insight and leadership to the global accountancy and finance profession. 

As a Regional Executive in the Southern district at the ICAEW I am responsible for representing over 5,000 members in the local area, Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. I help to promote ICAEW strategy to our members and other strategic partners by running a programme of events and providing local support. 

I project manage approximately 50 meetings and events a year, this includes producing a yearly plan, budget management, marketing, sales, sponsorship and logistics, all the way through to reconcilliation. My events range from small technical workshops for our members to larger networking events such as dinners for 300 people which include our members and other business professionals. 

I am also responsible for promoting and increasing the profile of ICAEW members and do this by working with a variety of groups. The largest being our local district society, SOSCA (Southern Society of Chartered Accountants). I also work alongside a younger members group, a student society and help manage a cross professional group called the Joint Professions Group.

Regional Events Executive

NHS Confederation

At the NHS Confederation I worked mainly on their annual conference and exhibition. This was an extremely large event attracting around 3,000 people in total. It was a 3 day event with a programme of seminars and a large exhibition of around 150-200 stands. My main responsibilities with this event were running the logistics and working closely with the project manager in the yearly process. This included, budget management, project planning, speaker management, venue/catering, staffing, onsite management and a networking programme including a large conference dinner for up to 700 guests and a series of dinners that all took place on the same night for 50-100 guests each. 

I was also responsible for smaller events of around 30-50 people which ranged on a variety of topics, this would include full event management including budgets, project planning and reconciliation. I also worked onsite at a variety of events with the rest of the team.

McMenemy Hill was an events agency representing a wide range of clients from BT, Sony PlayStation, Salesforce and more. At MMH I was a Project Coordinator which meant I supported a Producer on events. I would be responsible for a number of logistical tasks and projects with small budgets.

I understand firsthand the frustration of wanting to complete tasks and feeling utterly overwhelmed by them. 

Back in 2012, while working remotely in events management – a career I had dedicated most of my life to – I found myself trapped in a relentless cycle. It seemed like every task was impossible, and I couldn't figure out where to start.

My struggle with productivity took a toll on my mental well-being. The spiralling thoughts in my head became unbearable and eventually, it led me to depression.

It wasn't until recent years that I came to understand the concept of executive dysfunction, a common trait in individuals with ADHD. I wanted to do the task, I wanted to move my projects and plans forward, but my brain, specifically it's executive functioning was stopping me from doing so. 

After this, I embarked on a personal mission to implement strategies and techniques that would enable me to take control of my life and overcome the barriers caused by executive dysfunction. Today, armed with a wealth of knowledge about executive functions and executive dysfunction, I'm determined to ensure that no one else has to endure the same struggles I did.
