I understand firsthand the frustration of wanting to complete tasks and feeling utterly overwhelmed by them. Back in 2012, while working remotely in events management – a career I had dedicated most of my life to – I found myself trapped in a relentless cycle. It seemed like every task was impossible, and I couldn't figure out where to start. My struggle with productivity took a toll on my mental well-being. The spiralling thoughts in my head became unbearable and eventually, it led me to depression. It wasn't until recent years that I came to understand the concept of executive dysfunction, a common trait in individuals with ADHD. I wanted to do the task, I wanted to move my projects and plans forward, but my brain, specifically it's executive functioning was stopping me from doing so. After this, I embarked on a personal mission to implement strategies and techniques that would enable me to take control of my life and overcome the barriers caused by executive dysfunction. Today, armed with a wealth of knowledge about executive functions and executive dysfunction, I'm determined to ensure that no one else has to endure the same struggles I did.
