I started my career as a back-end software engineer. I deciding to forge my own path made the transformation to front-end developer specializing in mobile. Naturally accepting the opportunity to move into the manager role when offered.

Understanding the why to get to the how - focusing on security behavior change and embedding security values into culture

hello, world! It's time for a long overdue post. 

Like many others, I was laid off in January. Layoffs are painful in a very unique way. I had to process extreme destabilization, understand this was not indicative of my value, and grieve no longer working with so many amazing colleagues. I've had important talks with companies only to discover we're mismatched. And yet -- I've reconnected with so many amazing people in the industry, and I could not be more grateful for that. I am thrilled about upcoming conference talks I have the opportunity to give. While it's been challenging, I also found this was a much-needed opportunity to recover from burnout, and I'm so thankful for that reset. So here we are...

I'm still actively looking for a role in security awareness, and I especially want to use this opportunity to pull in my behavior design skills and significantly ramp up impact -- and would greatly appreciate any leads you may have. 

I have eight years of experience in reducing human risk by shaping security behavior and culture at a range of companies. Some highlights include: 
- Built two comprehensive, data-driven security awareness programs at startups valued in billions, focused on driving secure behaviors and reducing human risk
- Created 30+ unique security and privacy trainings with an average rating of 97%
- Drove user adoption strategy for technical initiatives, securing 100% onboarding for each initiative
- Cultivated secure developer communities, scaling active participants by 450%, at a large cloud-based tech provider
