Co-founded an investment research team that delivers bespoke insights from alternative data (e.g., consumer transactions, mobile-geolocation, social media, etc.) in response to broad range of investment questions 
• Define end-to-end alternative data strategy.  This includes driving the vision of strategic roadmap and developing programs that encourage a data-driven research culture across a 60-people Investment Team 
• Oversee external data sourcing, from conducting due diligence to commercial negotiation.  Harvest proprietary data via surveys, crowdsourcing and webcrawling
• Collaborate with 5 Data Scientists to develop insights enablers such as sentiment analyzer applied to user generated content, further augmenting the potential to mine differentiated alpha from data assets

Led key work-streams in launching a proprietary direct-to-consumer distribution platform in the UK 
• Strategic projects ranged from defining the end-to-end UK business model, advising on distribution channel, to recommending prioritization of market entry
• Modelled the behavior of UK’s 1st performance-only management fee structure under various fund performance and client activity scenarios, leading to subsequent approval from FCA (UK regulator)
• Collaborated with a 6-people SCRUM team in designing front-end platform (Champion of 2015 WebAwards for Best Investment Website)

Rainbow founded a 5-people Data Insight team at GoldenTree, a $50B credit hedge fund, delivering data-driven investment insights across a 60-people Investment Team to support the firm's fundamental research through acquiring, enriching and analyzing alternative data.  She also started the ESG Analytics practice to assess and monitor portfolios' exposure to material ESG risk.

Prior to joining GoldenTree, she co-founded a similar alternative data team at Orbis Investments, a $30B long-only equity fund, growing the team from a startup division to a 10-people team within 4 years.  She previously also played a key role in launching Orbis Access, a D2C FinTech investment platform in the UK.
