Personal Trainer To Health Coach (My personal story) I worked as a Personal Trainer for over 12 years in a big chain gym. I had a good success rate when I worked in a residential gym. But that changed when I started working in a gym in the city. For some reason all of my health and fitness knowledge was not delivering the same results I was use to seeing. I couldn’t figure out why and this was affecting me because my reputation was on the line. To make matters worse I was also going through a bitter court battle to stop my ex partner sending my daughter to live in Colombia for good. The stress of not achieving results with my clients and realising I may never see my daughter again made me spiral into a confused state of mind. I wasn’t sleeping well, I was grinding my teeth at night and also suffering from anxiety. I went for professional help from a Hypnotherapist/Life Coach who a friend of mine recommended. The only way to describe the rituals he made me do is transformational. It changed my life! This is when I realised why I was not changing my clients bodies. They were more than likely dealing with the same issues I had like work stress, anxiety and lack of sleep. They just wasn’t sharing this with me and I also never asked. I asked my hypnotherapist/life coach how I could apply these mindset strategies to my client base. He told me that he runs a life coaching course. I booked onto the next course... Then Fit By Choice coaching was born. I was still met with resistance because I guess I wasn’t doing what was “expected” from a Personal Trainer. But I was persistence because I knew other trainers were also frustrated that their clients were not following their advice. But I know I had the key to change this because most weight loss is tackled with a back to front methodology. When you tackle the causes and challenges first, the rest naturally falls into place. I lost my court battle over my daughter staying in the U.K but I now had the the tools to overcome adversity, anxiety and stress and now live my life with peace, clarity and resilience when stress arises. I now use these same rituals in my health programs and I now can guarantee my clients weight loss, less stress and loads more confidence.
