I grew up in a Navy family where service to others was a priority. My mother was a Registered Nurse who volunteered to work in the Polio Epidemic of 1948. These values continue to guide me today. I volunteered for the Vietnam War, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served as a Surface Warfare Officer. Following the Navy, I joined Merrill Lynch. While working with high net worth families, I established an Institutional Group in San Diego. This team provided investments and investment management to Governments, banks and corporations. After 12-years I founded Higgins Capital Management, Inc. in 1996. My vision was to create a fiduciary firm with the independence to truly put the client’s best interest first. I am a Registered Investment Adviser and fiduciary. Client values and goals come first. I believe in giving back to our community through active participation.I am an active member of the San Diego Yacht Club and have served as a member of the Race Committee. I am a lifetime member of the Naval Academy Alumni Association. I served on the Finance Committee for Rotary Club 33. I am a member of the congregation of San Diego's First United Methodist Church where I have sung second tenor in the Chancel Choir. I am a family man and a doting father of my daughter.
