I didn’t build my LinkedIn brand alone.

Not even close.

I wish I could say I figured everything out by myself.

Because honestly… that’s who I am.
The “don’t worry bro, I got this” guy.

So before I started posting, I went all in on learning:
– bought a course
– practiced writing
– learned Canva
– picked up a few AI tricks

And I opened my account thinking,
“I’m about to set this place on fire.”

In reality?
– I posted “high quality” content
– commented everywhere
– sent 100+ requests a day

And nothing moved.

Why?

Because I wasn’t connecting.
I was just… performing.

The game changed the moment I started talking to people in DMs.

Suddenly:
– I saw new angles
 – I made actual friends
 – I met people who pushed me
 – I learned things no course would ever teach

Some even sent me referrals...
which wasn’t even in my imagination at the time.

And that’s when it clicked:

You can be the most skilled person in the room…
but without people, you stay invisible.

Connections don’t just help you grow.
They open doors you didn’t even know existed.

In 2024, my business flopped... just like the one before it.

It wasn’t a small dip.  It was a full crash 
- sales dropped, 
- clients disappeared,

Because I did what every perfectionist does.

I poured 99.9% of my time into the product
tweaking, polishing, perfecting.

And just 0.1% into the message.
AI handled everything else:
- posts
- website copy
- scripts
- emails

On paper, it looked perfect.
In reality, it sounded lifeless.

The product was brilliant;
rare, valuable, and almost no one else offered it.

And yet… no one cared.

That’s when I learned...
The product was never the business.
The story was.
The positioning was.

So, I stopped hiding behind “perfect” and started learning to communicate.

Now?

I run the most profitable business I’ve ever built.

Not because I built something new 
but because I learned how to say it right.

When people understand, relate, and trust...
they buy. Every. Single. Time.

PS. What’s one lesson your last failure taught you about selling or storytelling?

Reach didn’t drop. Attention did.

The algorithm isn’t the problem. AI is.

Before AI: people wrote. Readers stayed. Posts taught.
After AI: bot comments, fast scrolls, copy-paste tone.

The missing piece? 
Raw, imperfect, human.

I use AI daily. I have to.
Otherwise, I won't be able to write for 7 clients (solo)

But the trouble starts when you let it think for you.

But you can fix it with four layers:
1. Specificity (names, numbers, dates).
2. Scarcity (what only you lived).
3. Proof (screenshots, metrics, receipts).
4. Trust (your decisions and trade-offs).

Add those, and reach follows. 

Mastery is AI with you, not for you.
Learn that... and everything shifts.

They'll teach you if you just open your mouth.

So... I wasn’t a bright student growing up.

I sucked at studies.

But I was annoyingly curious.

When I reached college, my parents told me one thing:

“If you want university… study.”

So I tried.
But studying alone felt like torture.
- It was a new school.
- New faces.
- No one knew me.

So I did something funny and a bit embarrassing:
I acted like the “stupid kid” who wanted to learn.

I would ask the slowest questions in class.
People stared at me like I stole their homework.

But something crazy happened…
- Teachers noticed.
- Good students noticed.
- People started helping me.

And slowly… I caught up.

Even started learning faster than others.

For a moment I thought I was some hidden genius.

Spoiler: I wasn’t. And life humbled me fast.

I was just the guy who asked a lot of questions.

And that turned out to be my biggest power.

Curiosity made me sharper than talent ever could.
- If you feel behind… ask.
- If you feel stuck… ask.
- If you feel lost… ask.

People know things you don’t.
And most of them will teach you if you just open your mouth.
Asking questions is the real growth hack.

P.S. What’s one question you wish you had asked earlier in your career?

You can look like an expert without knowing everything. 

Just ask expert-level questions.

Let me be straight:
I work in the personal brand world.
Positioning matters (so much)

and you can’t sound clueless and expect people to trust you.

But here’s the trick nobody teaches:
You don’t have to look like the “expert.”
You just have to ask expert-level questions.

Most people ask questions that lower their credibility:
- “Why is LinkedIn engagement dead?"
- "How do you guys deal with bad clients?"
- “How do I find clients?”

But when you reframe them… something magical happens.
You look thoughtful.
You look intentional.
People WANT to answer you.

Try these instead:
→ For those seeing a drop in reach, what changes in audience behavior are you noticing?
→ When you realize a client isn’t a fit but the invoice still matters, what’s your first move?
→ If you’re getting steady inbound from LinkedIn, what actually moved the needle first for you
 
Same questions.
But sharper.
Cleaner.

More “I’m here to think with you,” not “please save me.”

Smart questions turn strangers into teachers.
And you walk away looking like someone who gets it.

In the praise sitting quietly in your comments.

We rush to feed the algorithm before our coffee cools.
And forget there’s an actual human behind that compliment.

Those comments aren’t metrics. 
They’re mirrors showing what your work means to people.

Because there's literally value here.
Those comments are proof your work already makes an impact.

"I just got another idea for my next post!"
"This looks great, I need to use more selfies."
"Wish I knew how to use AI to do this!"
"That hook is fire!"

Every comment holds a story... all it needs is a reframe.

Like;
“How I leave hidden ideas in my posts for your next one.”
“Why raw photos drive better engagement.”
“How I use AI to write faster content.”
“5 hook types readers can’t ignore.”

See what we just did? 
We turned a positive comment into a post title of inspiration and insight.

You may not have seven years of experience or a million impressions…
but you have had compliments right?

Your best social proof isn’t in your analytics 
it’s already in your comments. Read them again.

I remember the moment things finally started working.

Not when my posts blew up.
Not when I hit a few thousand followers.
But when I stopped treating LinkedIn like a slot machine.

Back then, I’d post, stare at the screen, and refresh like a man waiting for a miracle.
- Nothing.
- Zero likes.
- Maybe one pity comment from a cousin.

Took me a while to realize LinkedIn doesn’t owe me engagement.
It rewards attention.

Once I stopped posting and ghosting
and started engaging like I meant it,
everything flipped.

1. I commented before posting.
2. I built relationships before pitching.
3. And I learned from people way ahead of me.

Suddenly, my “invisible” posts weren’t invisible anymore.
People replied. DMs opened. Clients showed up.

That’s when it clicked...
you don’t grow here by yelling louder.

Most people think experts don’t like to help.

They have a discipline problem.

And I’m saying this with love because I used to be the CEO of “I’ll do it later.”

- Waking up late
- Writing only when “mood comes”
- Calling inconsistency “creative freedom”
- Acting like pressure magically boosts productivity

And then I wondered why my writing wasn’t improving,
why every idea sounded like the last one,
why my growth felt stuck.

Because here’s the truth you don’t want to hear:

Your talent won’t save you.
Your discipline will.

My writing only changed when my routine changed.
- Not my “passion,” 
- not my “flow,” 
- not my “vibe.”
But my routine.

Here’s what finally fixed it:
1. Start work early when your brain is your sharpest
2. 90 minutes of writing before any client work
3. Edit yesterday’s draft, not today’s
4. One draft every single day
5. Review weekly

Do this for 30 days and watch what happens to your writing.
Your clarity sharpens.
Your ideas deepen.
Your confidence builds.

That’s the part people don’t get…
Stop acting like a writer.
Start living like one.

Discipline isn’t “strict.”
It’s freedom.

The biggest one in my entire family.

1. “I don’t get it.”
