I’m a writer and strategy consultant with growth consultancy 240INC. My approach to both writing and strategy is unconventional. I’m first and foremost a writer but have trained as a programmer, an economist, a scientist, an analyst and a marketeer. I honed my analytical writing skills with two boutique research houses both providing proprietary research and quality financial analysis to the financial services industry with clients including corporate and investment banks, central banks and information services providers. In the process, I developed my ‘big picture first’ approach to problem solving: looking at context at both the micro and macro, political and social, intellectual and cultural level, the subtleties that make and break realities, before diving into the nit and grit of the problem at hand. This approach has worked remarkably well for me and therefore my clients, regardless of whether I’m writing highly-researched blogs and articles, working on a marketing strategy or mapping out challenges and solutions. Over the past two decades I have worked with businesses of all sizes in the US, Pakistan, the Middle East and in the UK and studied many more. I have worked with big names and boutique consultancies, in corporate finance, retail banking, marketing and research. As a freelance writer, I’ve worked in industries as varied as aviation, travel, human resources, technology, retail and health. Based on my observations, many of these, those that have grown as well as those that have not been so lucky, would have benefited from advice, whether strategic leadership or operational guidance or subject matter expertise or something else entirely. Far too many simply didn’t have access to that advice because they couldn’t afford it. 240INC is on a mission to change that.
