Mobile Program Management, LLC

Founder of an independent consulting firm, Mobile Program Management, LLC.  Worked directly with SMB's in the San Francisco Bay Area.  

Engagements included:

1)  Business Operations Consultant (Education industry).  Created a new program to define the end-to-end onboarding process for new student enrollment and ongoing maintenance.  Was responsible for developing the strategy and tactics plan with executives and also for execution of the program portfolio.  Projects included policy development (Parent/Student Handbooks), global collaboration tool selection and integration, payment processing optimization, website refresh and marketing communication plan deployment.  

2)  Senior Project Consultant / PM Advisor (Telecommunications industry).  Defined and implemented an end-to-end project management methodology to optimize my client's rapidly growing business operations. Reported directly to the CEO.  Deliverables included:  1)  PM Tool Implementation (Smartsheet) to manage customer implementations and project plan visibility.  Created Smartsheet project templates for each of their service offerings to accelerate onboarding. 2)  Project Governance. Established new project governance and executive reporting processes to improve team communication and alignment.  3) Portfolio Management.  Defined a new portfolio management process to prioritize customer deliverables and improve reporting.   4) PM Value Demonstration.  Interfaced directly with my client's customers to roll-out new processes and tools.  Project confirmed value of project management within the org and the need for a full-time resource  5)  Helped client source and hire PM resource for long-term support.

3)  PMO Strategic Advisor (Software industry).  Worked with a profitable $500M SMB to identify key areas of opportunity for PMO value optimization.  Deliverables included a strategy and tactics plan, maturity/ current state assessment and roadmap to incremental and quantifiable improvements.

Owner / Senior Program / Project Management Consultant

MegaPath Inc.

Sales Operations Director with VP-level responsibilities.  Defined and oversaw the sales operations project portfolio, which included systems enhancements, new sales policy development and quantifiable improvements to the customer experience.  Worked directly with executive leadership to define, fund and execute sales enablement initiatives.  

•	Launched a new sales support team to interface with 100 inside sales reps.  Increased Cloud / VoIP customer quote throughput 15% in first two months of Operation.
•	Improved customer order book-to-bill ratio by 10% within 6 months.
•	Achieved an 8% reduction in sales order processing errors by directing a campaign encompassing sales retraining, sales policy refinement and CRM improvements.
•	Liaised with software and product executive leadership to complete an overhaul to the sales ordering system reducing quoting timeframe / system errors by 17%.
•	Led monthly Executive Sales Town Hall Forum to review Product Roadmap and collaborate directly with Sales Leadership.

Director, Sales Operations Program Management

Product Manager for portfolio of Broadband Access services for MegaPath's Retail Business Unit.  Oversaw all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI), pricing strategy and product retirement.  Worked closely with software executive management on sprint planning, product backlog monitoring, product release management and all aspects of SDLC using a hybrid Waterfall/Agile Scrum framework.  Interfaced with marketing, operations, finance and engineering leadership on Go-To-Market planning and execution.

Product Manager, Broadband Access Services

In April 2010, Covad Communications, Megapath and Speakeasy embarked on a three company merger, with the goal of creating a Managed Service Local Exchange Carrier. MegaPath leverages its wide selection of broadband connectivity, Virtual Private Networks, Voice over IP (VoIP) and Security technologies to enable businesses to lower costs, increase security and enhance productivity.

Promoted from Senior Manager, PMO to Director, PMO.  Selected by COO to launch and manage an integrated PMO team following a corporate merger. Included staffing, project process and policy definition, executive / stakeholder enrollment and inter-departmental training.  Reported directly to COO.

•	Launched a centralized PMO within 45 days.  Defined project management processes, including executive project selection, requirements management, change control, and user acceptance testing.
•	Mentored and coached a team of 8 Senior Project Managers with a portfolio of 50+ active initiatives and budgets of $500K to $60M. 
•	Authored corporate project collateral including the Business Case, Project Charter, Requirements Backlog, Test Plans, Stage-Gate Checklist and Project Close Requirements.
•	Led corporate transition from Waterfall to an Agile-based development methodology.  
•	Managed decommissioning of a legacy product offering driving 3.5M in annual support savings.

Director, Project Management Office (PMO)

Covad Communications

Promoted from Senior Project Manager, Engineering to Senior Manager, PMO.  Hand selected by COO to implement a new project office to manage large corporate initiatives. Reported directly to COO.    

•	Launched a new PMO from the ground up within 90 days.  Included staffing, corporate project process definition, pipeline management, requirements management, change control and executive reporting.  
•	Defined a new stage-gate business process through which all corporate projects were initiated.   
•	Managed a team of 6 Senior Project Managers with a portfolio of 20+ active initiatives and budgets of $250K to $25M.  
•	Improved corporate project completion by 400% with 96% of projects delivered on time or ahead of schedule.
•	Led a company-wide migration from Waterfall to Critical Chain Project Management.  
•	Led biweekly Project Portfolio Reviews with the C-Suite.

Senior Manager, Project Management Office (PMO)

Reported directly to CTO.  Single project management resource supporting 80 network engineers across ATM, MPLS and VoIP platforms. 

•	Promoted from Project Manager to Senior Project Manager within 9 months.
•	Completed a $3M VoIP soft switch upgrade for the SMB customer base.  Included vendor management, beta trial execution, customer communication and post migration end user support.  
•	Managed the build-out of a new IP Point-of-Presence in the San Francisco bay area, reducing transport facility costs by $900K annually.  
•	Partnered with the EPMO team to standardize corporate project policy and governance.

Senior Project Manager, Network Engineering

Promoted from Collocation Project Manager to Network Planner.  Accountable for daily monitoring of Central Office (CO) facilities in 61 offices spanning two telecommunication carrier regions. 

•	Monitored the capacity of CO facilities required to support network subscriber growth including power, physical collocation space and access transport such as T1’s / DS3’s.
•	Communicated daily with Field Operations Leadership to resolve capacity issues impeding customer order fulfillment. 
•	Forecasted monthly network card / resource requirements and worked directly with field operations team to install. 
•	Single point of resolution for facility based customer issues.

Network Planner, Network Planning & Capacity Management

Project managed the turn up of broadband services in new central office locations.

•	Directly managed the turn up of service in 66 Central Offices to increase company footprint / subscriber coverage.
•	Partnered with ILEC representatives on ordering, contract negotiation, facilities acceptance and dispute resolution.  
•	Selected by executive management to attend company's first President’s Club for an exemplary contribution to corporate strategic goals.
