As an Associate Program Director at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency, I work closely with residency leadership, ensuring that the residents meet and exceed ACGME training standards, and oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of curricula related to behavioral health, transcultural-community medicine, and resident wellness. As the Behavioral Health Director, I supervise the integrated behavioral health services program at Providence Family Medicine Center, which serves as the continuity of care clinic for the medical residency.

As the Co-Training Director of the Alaska Psychology Internship Consortium, I work closely with Consortium leadership to ensure that our pre-doctoral interns meet the accreditation standards set by the American Psychological Association. Our training program is tailored to equip future psychologists with the skills to work effectively with underserved communities.

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC)

I am proud to have directed the first Tribal Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (TFQHC) in Alaska, which utilized state-of-the-art telehealth technology to expand access to evidence-based behavioral health services to every tribal health region of Alaska. During my tenure, I achieved several primary accomplishments, including overseeing the delivery of evidence-based services to over 700 people while achieving clinical outcomes that were 44% higher than the national benchmark for behavioral health services in the US while maintaining an over 90% client and staff satisfaction rating. Additionally, I oversaw the development of 32 Standard Operating Procedures detailing all aspects of clinical and administrative operations to support the clinic's hiring, training, and overall sustainability. I also oversaw clinic enrollment with the State Medicaid Office as a Tribal Federally Qualified Healthcare Center with an affiliated Behavioral Health Aide Health Professional Group, setting the clinic up for financial sustainability. 

As part of my additional duties, I oversaw the development and implementation of the clinic's strategic plan, managed a $2.1 million operational budget, and delivered evidence-based psychotherapy services, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS). I also directed the Critical Incident Stress Management team and led campus critical incident responses.

Director of Behavioral Health Wellness Clinic

ANTHC brought me on to enhance the delivery of behavioral health services throughout the Alaska Tribal Health System. Among my primary accomplishments, I conducted a statewide assessment of tribal behavioral health needs, ensuring that program development was aligned with stakeholder needs, context, and culture. I also secured a 1.2 million-dollar budget, which was used to establish the first Tribal Federally Qualified Healthcare Center in Alaska, solely focused on delivering primary behavioral health services. In addition, I collaborated with statewide and organizational partners on various initiatives, such as State Medicaid enrollment, telehealth and billing systems, clinic marketing and branding, policy and procedure development, workflow development, and staff hiring. 
 
My additional duties included providing clinical services to regional Tribal Health Organizations as an ANTHC Rural Provider Network member, consulting with ANTHC Early Intervention Services on implementing trauma-informed interventions to improve health outcomes for individuals living with HIV, providing clinical training for predoctoral psychology interns, and consultation with healthcare providers living in remote areas of Alaska. Furthermore, I facilitated the statewide Pain and Opioid Management Project ECHO, directed the Critical Incident Stress Management team, and led the statewide emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I was a tenure-track faculty member in the UAA Department of Psychology. My responsibilities included teaching graduate-level courses, conducting research with external funding, and providing service to the university, profession, and community.

In addition, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and regularly integrate yoga psychology into my professional practice. I enjoy tending to houseplants, spending time with friends and family, hiking, and traveling in my free time. Fun fact, I have traveled to all 50 United States and twelve countries. Interested in healthy aging, I am working my way to each of the original "blue zones" worldwide.
