One of my favorite specialties is a Sales Home Page - a blend of a sales page and a home page. It touches on all the elements for conversion, tells a story, and highlights your brand.

My copywriting process includes a session to capture your vision. Then, I use detailed storytelling skills and methods to write your copy. 

My ghostwriting process includes developing a book roadmap and chapter strategy sessions. We take it chapter by chapter and turn it around in 6 - 9 months. 

Both processes involve research and my version of "method writing," similar to method acting. Let's not forget the umteen edits!

Here are 5 signs your brand voice doesn't match who you actually are.

Sign 1: You sound more formal in writing than in conversation.

If your LinkedIn posts feel like a corporate white paper but your client calls feel like coffee shop chats, there's a disconnect.
Read your content out loud. 
Does it sound like something you'd actually say? 
If not, rewrite it like you're talking to a friend.

Sign 2: You're using words you'd never say in real life.

"Leverage." 
"Synergy." 
"Ecosystem."
If you wouldn't say it in conversation, don't write it in a post.
Jargon doesn't make you sound smart. 
It makes you sound distant. 
Swap the buzzwords for the words you actually use.

Sign 3: You delete the personal stories before you hit publish.

You draft a post with a vulnerable moment or specific example. 
Then right before you publish, you cut it. 
Too personal.
But that's the part that makes people trust you.
Your audience doesn't need more generic advice. 
They need to see you've lived what you're teaching.

Sign 4: You're mimicking someone else's voice instead of finding your own.

You see a successful founder with a bold style, so you try to write like them. 
Or someone poetic and reflective, so you shift to match.
But imitation isn't voice. 
It's camouflage.
Your voice is what's left when you stop trying to sound like anyone else.

Sign 5: Writing feels like a chore, not a release.

If every post feels like pulling teeth, it's probably because you're writing in a voice that doesn't feel like you.
When your voice is aligned, writing feels natural. 
Not always easy, but natural.
If it feels forced, you're forcing the wrong voice.

Your quick audit:

Go read your last three posts. 

Ask yourself:
• Would I say this out loud?
• Am I using words I think I should use, or words I actually use?
• Did I cut the personal part?
• Does this feel like me?

Your brand voice should feel like coming home, 
not putting on a costume.

I almost gave up on showing up on LinkedIn last week.

I was busy, yes.
But that’s not why… 


It’s because I looked around my house and thought, "How can I talk about running a business when there's laundry piling on the couch and 3 days of dishes in the sink?" 🤮


Like I needed a “clean slate” before I could show up.


And it reminded me of the lie we keep believing: 
👉 We have to be polished before we can be present.

I see this with my clients, too!


They wait to post until their branding is perfect.
They wait to pitch until their website is flawless.
They wait to show up until they feel like they've "arrived."


And in the meantime, their audience is looking for them. 
Needing their help. 
Ready to invest time, money, and energy into a solution my client has.


But they're not showing up 
because they're still trying to "get it all together" first. 🙄

Here's what I'm learning as a SAHM and business owner:

"Having it all together" isn't a prerequisite. 
It's a f*cking myth.

Some days I'm on top of EVERYTHING.
Schedule.✔️
Meal prepped.✔️
Client work.✔️

BUT… Those days are RARE.


Most days I'm switching laundry between Zoom calls. 
Teaching addition using a marshmallow war. 
Figuring out dinner at 4:30 PM
…sometimes 7PM because life
(Spolier alert, I never know what I’m cooking but my family never leaves leftovers so win?)


It's messy. 
It's chaotic. 
And it's real.


And the wild thing is… when you show up anyway, messy and imperfect, that's when people actually connect.

Your audience doesn't need you to be flawless. 
They need you to be real.


They follow you because you're a few steps ahead and willing to turn around and say, "Here's what I'm learning."


Perfection doesn't build trust. 
Presence does.


Vulnerability doesn't weaken your authority. 
It strengthens it.

So if you've been waiting to show up until you feel ready, I want to give you permission to stop waiting.


Show up messy.
Show up mid-process.
Show up before you feel ready.


Because the people who need you don't need perfect. They need YOU.

After months... MONTHS of fighting yarn and AI patterns ( 🖕 AI "creators")... the project my son asked for is ALMOST complete. 

It still needs a hood and to be blocked (aka shaped)... but I see a light at the end of this tangled, yarn tunnel! 

P.S. did I mention that I really dislike creators who use AI to make art (like crochet patterns for example)?
