You chase the leadership traits everyone says you need.
More visionary. More inspiring. More like them.

You spend years fixing what you think is broken.

Most of my clients have this same story.

The board chose someone more “visionary.”
Someone who could “rally the troops.”
Someone who wasn’t her.

She sat in her office looking back at twenty years of results:
Revenue growth. Cost control. Risks managed.
All the past wins that suddenly didn’t count.

So she reached the same conclusion that many high performers do:
I must be the problem.
She believed she couldn’t lead unless she became someone else.

When do people come to you specifically?

The identity you’ve built around your role, your value, your place in the world.
This is where many professionals get stuck.

Level 3: Gift
How you naturally create value.
Your instinctive way of seeing problems and generating solutions.
This is where real leverage lives.

Here’s what rarely gets talked about.

Most leaders operate from Story.

They spend so much energy protecting the identity they’ve constructed that they stop seeing what’s actually changing.

They defend their position instead of exploring new territory.
They optimize what worked in the past instead of questioning it.
They react to disruption instead of noticing the early signals.

But when you operate from Gift.

Everything shifts.

→ Curiosity replaces defensiveness
→ Adaptation happens without identity loss
→ Patterns become visible while others see noise
→ Change feels anticipated, not shocking

The future belongs to people who understand how they naturally create value.
Not because they’re more capable.

But because they see more clearly.
