Creativity and complex problem solving is what I live and breathe. My professional education is PhD in Fluid Power and Mechatronics from Linköping University in Sweden, preceded by an Engineer's Degree in Engineering Design as well as an education as State-Certified Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering, both obtained in Magdeburg, Germany. Being experienced in analysis (non-routine problems) and engineering of complex machine systems (such as construction machinery and hybrid-electric vehicles), as well as in working with and leading of research and Advanced Engineering projects, my goal is to continue working with development and application of advanced technology in the area of energy efficiency and intelligent machines. The many years of work with pre-development and research projects have taught me the skills needed to present and explain complex situations and build a common understanding within a team, but also the ability to lead, decide and defend decisions made. And then again the humility to question these decisions and re-evaluate from a new perspective. Nobody is perfect, not on his own, but good team-work gets one pretty close. Specialties: Being born and raised in (East) Germany and having moved to Sweden at the age of 25, I speak German, English and Swedish fluently, but have to admit that my once passable knowledge of Russian has faded to some more or less useful words and odd phrases, and my French has never passed that stage. However, I am fluent in finger-pointing and arm-waving, which I have found to compensate quite well for any deficiencies in vocabulary. In addition to my family and being an engineer my third passion in life is gliding. If you have ever tried you know why, if not then get up there to understand. It can't be explained in words... :-)
