They tried to put me in a box, but I was too awkward, extremely social and fought being under stimulated. I surfed, I studied business and I tried my hand at multiple startups before I finished high school. Then I got to college and things changed. I wanted to do two things, surf and work for myself. I did both and started my first successful venture my junior year in college. I launched a real estate development company in 1998 at 21 years old. I started with $800 and scaled up to be one of the largest private land owners in the State of Nevada by the age of 24. Somehow amassing over 60,000 acres. I didn’t borrow money, I just scaled intelligently. I was extremely blessed on all levels of business and with that I had hustle and drive. Somewhere in the middle of all of that I built a surf camp with two close friends and ran the US Surf Team for Dakine. Being attached to the surf industry was my crutch and at times what saved me from the stress of being involved in real estate deals I was probably far too young to be involved in. In 2008, I got hustled by the real estate market collapse. I had to rebuild, but it didn’t take me long because I wasn’t over leveraged. I ended up working on creative projects in alternative energy from geothermal to solar and was bold enough to put holes in the ground and dig for gold. By 2011 I decided to try my hand at investing in startups. I was a pretend software engineer with a short background in HTML. That got me as far as developing ads for Ebay, but outside of that I had a keen interest in tech. In 2015 I launched an incubator for startups called Collab Loft, which eventually became Incubate Ventures. That concept was both real estate and investment related. I launched several concepts out of our flagship building in Carlsbad, from sports technology to CPG brands with social media creators.
Then 2020 hit and it reminded of a place I’d been before. Misery loves company and that’s not where I wanted to spend my time, so I partnered with a few content creators on social media and I launched Influenced Ventures. The next 3 years I spent partnering on concepts, investing in new ideas from music to merch.

That has lead me to 2023 where my focus is managing a portfolio of personal investments of real estate, tech and CPG brands. And in between that I study global economics, so that I can fully grasp what 3-5 years from now will look like. It’s not glamorous, but it’s full of opportunities. I am on a unique journey to find good humans, good ideas and great country music….
