Learning Technologies Manager

My focus was in the design, development and implementation of high-quality e-Learning materials (a mix of just-in-case and just-in-time) for consumption across a multi-channel business. Using a range of instructional design and UX techniques, we created world-class learning interventions in line with the business needs. As part of my role, I was regularly in contact with stakeholders, SMEs and the wider design team to ensure our portfolio was accurate and up to date.

Propositions Trainer

- Based on a previous TNA run by the company, as part of a small initial team, I was tasked to design a coaching pack to be used by training contractors to mentor store employees on Home Broadband sales
- Managed face to face Home Broadband training and one on one coaching for 36 stores made up of over 400 individuals
- Met with key stakeholders to design and develop a training plan for the Wales division
- Increased Home Broadband sales in the Wales division by 24% in month one, hitting 104% for the quarter – the first time they had hit target on Home Broadband in over two years

As part of the new Retail Training Team, our goal was to curb new employee turnover by coaching and mentoring all new employees within their initial three month induction period. During my time in this role, we brought turnover down from 41% to 29% which saved the company over £10m.

Retail Sales Trainer

Tasked to turn around a store with a turnover in excess of £1m+ in danger of losing its “Premier” status. Raised the notional margin from 59% of target to 110% within three months and consistently hit target for the remaining four months that I was present

Retail Sales Premier Branch Manager

This job was created in response to a massive staff turnover during the previous financial year. We were responsible for delivering all new starter training, as well as product and sales training for 3 regions. Overall, we brought total staff turnover in the company down from 41% to 29%, a result which had saved the company millions of pounds and justified the initial setup costs.

Promoted to take over a new build CPW and tasked with the co-ordination of the store setup. Control over final building works, POS materials and local marketing setup. Control over external staff interview, recruitment and training. Responsibilities as store manager also included profit and loss analysis, sales tracking and target setting, visual merchandising, shopfloor management, training and development and performance reviewing.

Consistent top seller in store throughout 2002/2003. One of the top salesmen in the company for Talktalk sales, and an Area Product Expert (point of contact for branches with technical queries). Promoted to Senior Sales Consultant in March 2003 and tasked with controlling the shopfloor of the number one branch in Wales when the management team were not in store. Put forward for company’s fast track management course in April 2003 and completed within two months.
