The three times I thought about closing [Lem-uhn] ™

❌When a huge legal letter came in the post threatening to sue us for having a similar name to another company six months in

❌In December 2022- Jan 2023 when many of our clients had their budgets slashed due to the financial crisis

❌When a disgruntled former early employee wrote an awful (+ untrue) review of us

Building a company is a roller coaster.

But having a purpose at the heart makes the lows worth it.

⏱️How many hours have you worked over your set hours this month?⏱️

But sometimes people need to work a little longer.

At the start of each month, I check hours and tell anyone who overworked the month before to take time in lieu.

😯Why I’m Anti-Remote Working Full-time😯

Now, don’t worry.

I haven’t become one of those tyrants shouting about how people need to be in the office full-time.

But if you can, in-person connect days can work magic.

On Friday, we had our quarterly in-person team day.

We reviewed Q1 and strategised.

But mostly we just caught up.

🍝We lunched.

🏌🏽I lost badly at crazy golf and didn’t fare well at Shuffleboard either.

Remote work opens doors and helps us have the best whizzes nationwide.

But sometimes it’s good to step out of the virtual world.

P.S. - We didn’t get a nice team picture, so here’s Seb and me instead. He’s sad he missed out.

My Biggest Wins In Life:

🤣The Year 11 school leavers award for the most annoying laugh.

🕺🏼Winning a girl’s magazine competition for a free dance lesson at Pineapple Dance Studios (sadly it didn’t help me high kick like Louie Spence).

🤓Securing a certificate for outstanding school attendance.

As you can see I had some early BIG wins.

Luckily, since founding [Lem-uhn] ™ we’ve won some awards that rival the free dance lesson.

Our latest win is becoming a finalist for the StartUp Awards.

And if we win I’ll high kick like Louie Spence my way onto the stage.

❌What’s your biggest networking ick?❌

Mine is when people go on a hard sell offensive rather than building relationships.

Last week I had two different people pull out a demo video ten seconds into the conversation.

I’ll always remember the people who were genuinely nice people over the hard sellers.
