As creative director of Cultures in Action I am sharing my skills and experience through a community-based entity which aims to celebrate across difference using the voices of young people and their communities to enable significant and sustainable change through storytelling with a restorative approach. The vision of CIA is to enable change in current social thinking with a mission to influence the critical and creative thinking of policy makers and co-create a fluid and inclusive financial resource base to broker social, cultural and creative projects. I work to support young people and their families in engaged community strengthening. Through developing a restorative approach within the community that seeks to use a common language and practices, such as restorative justice, to change the narrative to a holistic whole community model that actively gives young people the agency to co-design support approaches and create positive change in their lives.
