Highly qualified and experienced Marine Security Consultant with a broad based, in depth knowledge across the maritime sector and specialist expertise in Anti-Piracy and Ballistic Protection , Offshore security for O&G operations, LNG, Seismic Survey operations Shore End Cable Laying, Sub Sea UXO survey and disposal Operations, . Has worldwide experience as a Port and Ship ISPS Security Surveyor and is a DNV and IMO approved ISPS Trainer. Also qualified to STCW95 instructor standards in Marine Safety, Sea Survival, Seamanship and Firefighting Has extensive experience in both Project Management and designing and delivering training packages. Accustomed to robust working conditions in difficult and hostile environments. For the past 16 years I have worked for numerous commercial companies and several international organisations, including the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the Organisation of American States (OAS) the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) as a freelance Marine Consultant specialising in Maritime Security and a subject matter expert in legal case involving piracy. For many years I have been closely involved in Anti-Piracy and offshore security operations in the Indian Ocean, the Middle East, West and East Africa and the Far East. During this time I have conducted many Piracy Specific Security Surveys and Assessments and implemented the resultant Ship-Protection Measures in the form of vessel hardening, procedures and crew training. This includes numerous High Risk vessels that I was directly responsible for, both when running an offshore security project in support of seismic survey operations off Kenya and Somalia, and in my role as offshore Superintendent for Sub-Sea Survey and Ordnance Disposal project off the Al Faw Peninsular in Iraq. As the interim General Manager of the London based Maritime & Underwater Security Consultants, I was active in all aspects of administration, planning and execution of anti-piracy operations. I recently appeared as an expert witness in the high profile Brillante Virtuoso Hijacking case.
