Currently developing and implementing a group wide privacy framework in preparation for the GDPR covering all aspects of DP compliance covering 4 countries and over 4m Customers.

Ashfield Division - United Drug plc

My primary responsibility is to oversee and advise on the management of personal and sensitive personal data across the Ashfield Division of United Drug plc to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and associated legislation and guidance which includes any NHS or client-specific requirements. 

At present my remit covers approximately 4000 employees across 30 business units in 15 countries including the UK and Ireland, Europe and the United States.

I am responsible for creating, implementing and reviewing an information governance framework ensuring a level of compliance that can be monitored and demonstrated with ease across a wide and varied range of business areas including pharmaceutical sales, nurse advisers, event management and medical underwriting. 

I have designed and implemented training courses which have been undertaken both face to face and online and that have proved successful in not only raising awareness of the implications of Data Protection within an organisation but have also served to satisfy the strict requirements of the NHS Toolkit and ISO27001.

I am experienced in developing privacy frameworks which include documented policies and procedures which are designed to be implemented across a variety of business formats, while taking into consideration the regulatory complexities that come with handling sensitive/patient data and which have been successfully implemented without detriment to the day to day efficiencies of the businesses involved.
