In my current role, I bridge the gap between data-driven insights and actionable, sustainable solutions. Through strategic leadership, data analytics, policy advisory, and stakeholder engagement, I address climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution/waste. My data-centric approach aids in devising policies and solutions to various environmental challenges and opportunities at global, regional, and national scales. Here are the core facets of my role: 
• Strategic Leadership: Direct and coordinate environmental data management to bolster global environmental agendas and national policies/investments concerning nature/biodiversity, pollution, and climate issues. 
• Policy Investment Advisory: Harness data and insights to guide policy-making and investment decisions, aiming to preempt and mitigate environmental risks and hazards. Engage with policymakers and investors to foster sustainable environmental practices.
 • Inter-Agency Coordination: Advocate a “one-UN” and “one-UNEP” approach to synergise various UN agencies and Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) in addressing the Triple Planetary Crisis. 
• Data Analytics, Monitoring, and Innovation: Oversee key data initiatives like UNEP/GEMS water, air quality, and oceans, and spark innovation in environmental monitoring and early warning systems. Utilise data tools to scrutinise environmental trends, pinpoint high-risk areas, and assess the impact of deployed solutions. 
• Engagement with Regional and Global Stakeholders: Cultivate relationships with various stakeholders, governmental and intergovernmental institutions, UN regional coordination structures, non-state actors and bilateral/multilateral donors to propel the environmental agenda collectively. 
• Early Warning and Environmental Monitoring: Steer the implementation of Early Warning for the Environment (EWE) initiatives, emphasising Pollution, Nature and Biodiversity Loss, and the intertwined impacts of Climate Change/Pollution/Biodiversity Loss.

- Coordinated and supervised the delivery of all UNEP's programmes and projects across 54 African countries, ensuring seamless implementation and drove a 99% completion rate with a 50% improvement in the effectiveness and impact of environmental initiatives in the region.

- Formulated and implemented a coherent, relevant, and effective regional strategic programme for Africa based on the MTS 2022-2025 and the UNEP Programme of Work 2022-2023, contributing to a more focused and impactful approach to environmental initiatives resulting in a 99% increase in the coherence and relevance of these initiatives.

- Demonstrated exceptional expertise in strategic programme coordination, programme management, creative leadership, representation, planning, and resource management, leading to improved programme delivery and results with a 95% increase in efficiency and impact.

- Led the office in innovative approaches and streamlined programmatic delivery, elevating UNEP's profile and reputation as a leading environmental organization in Africa and strengthened its participation in the UN Development System by 90%.

- Promoted the building of strategic partnerships with relevant Government Agencies, Regional bodies, Civil Society Organizations, and Private Sector stakeholders, enhancing the impact and effectiveness of UNEP's programmes and projects in Africa by 85%.

- Built and strengthened strategic relationships and partnerships to advance UNEP's objectives, leveraged resources, and maximized impact in the region, resulting in a 45% increase in resources and a 40% improvement in overall impact.

- Increased office compliance in reporting by 140% and restructured the office's strategic focus into three pillars for optimal delivery to the UNCTs, including state & non-state actors.

-As the Coordinator of the UNEP's Climate Change Programme for Africa, I played a crucial role in providing technical guidance to member states and the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), leading to the adoption of key non-environmental enablers by 25 countries and a 75% increase in investment towards upscaling climate action solutions in the region.

-Championed research and knowledge for policy, establishing the Africa Adaptation Gap Report series and providing policy makers with the necessary information and data to inform their decisions. This resulted in a 90% increase in investment towards bridging the adaptation gap in the region and a 30% improvement in the resilience of vulnerable communities.

-Supported 15 countries in developing and deploying analytical tools to inform optimal investment trajectories, resulting in a 50% increase in mitigation potential and a 30% improvement in food security, income and job creation, and economic expansion in the region.

-Conceptualized and created an inclusive framework for mobilizing inclusive state and non-state actors for Climate Action implementation, resulting in the adoption of the Ecosystems Based Adaptation for Food Security Assembly (EBAFOSA) policy action framework by 20 countries and a 60% increase in collaboration towards climate action in the region.

-Built and fostered strategic partnerships and donor relations, mobilizing over $150 million for climate action initiatives in the region and contributing to a 40% improvement in the overall environmental sustainability and socio-economic resilience in the region.
