Rigorous is a WordPress Agency offering website design, website development & support, Google Ads, & SEO, working with Specialist Retailers, Venue-based businesses & Agencies. 

I founded Rigorous to focus on technically challenging and digital marketing projects. Over time, it's grown to a larger team that I manage to deliver results for our clients. I replaced the full-time I.T. Manager as part-time I.T. Administrator (sole member of I.T. Department) two days per week. I was responsible for managing I.T. Infrastructure and vendor relationships in four sites across the U.K. and had direct input into the I.T. procurement strategy. My main focus was developing Fixing Point's MRP system (based on JBoss) in XML, Java and Javascript.

Continued on as contractor after placement ended transitioning Smiths I.T. systems and data as part of the ETL process. I assisted in the process of moving Human Resources data from one system to another ensuring that data in both HR and Financial systems was correct. Continued to fill a Web Development/Systems Analyst role and finally performed hand-over of maintenance to I.T. at the end of my contract.

Work based placement working in an HR department as a web developer/systems analyst. During this time I built and implemented a Learning Management System in ASP which supported approximately 2000 users. Worked directly with internal clients in all phases of the project lifecycle.

Student Placement

I run Rigorous; a WordPress Agency offering design, development & support working with retailers (bricks & mortor as well as pure play ecommerce) & venue-based businesses (particularly in the Arts and Culture sector). We work with clients on an ongoing basis to improve their site's performance, SEO, sales and overall revenue.
