Before entering Commercial Real Estate, Rick was a top performer in the hospitality business, providing exceptional management, customer service, and delighting guests. He knew early on that entrepreneurship was the direction for him, earning his bachelor's degree in commerce followed by post-graduate studies in advertising and public relations. After college, he accumulated vast experience in marketing and management positions with Williamson Magor, Federal Express, eFunds, and Holiday Inn – where he rose from apprentice to general manager of a new property within six months. Reflecting on his passion and penchant for good customer service, which he carries on in his CRE business today: "The hospitality business was an exciting career experience where I realized that you're not selling a room – you're making a guest feel at home. Now, providing excellent customer service is inherent in what I do in CRE." Rick engaged with Century 21 Commercial as a business broker in 2004, earning his real estate salesperson license the same year and broker's license in 2010. With Century 21, he brokered the sale of small and medium-sized businesses, including convenience stores, restaurants, and more in the greater Sacramento area. Following Rick's relocation to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013, he joined Marcus & Millichap, specializing in hospitality brokerage. He achieved immense success selling independent boutique hotels all over Northern California, from the Central Coast to Monterey Bay, the Sierra Foothills, and the Sacramento area. Inspired in his quest to provide the best service and value to Commercial Real Estate property owners, he teamed up with Sperry Commercial Global Affiliates in 2017 as a managing broker and started his real estate practice in the East Bay: the Pro Real Estate Team. The Pro Real Estate Team specializes in representing family-owned and small-business asset owners in the East Bay communities of Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, Sunol, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, and Hayward, with a focus on vacant land, small multi-family, office, retail, hospitality, and warehouse. Rick's other interests include the ownership and management of a rustic boutique inn in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of Northern California. He also engages in the purchase of distressed residential real estate, restoring and rehabilitating them for long-term operation or resale.
