This is a founder’s story in the Art of Resilience. Of the kid that shouldn’t have been. Average in school. Damaged from life. Disciplined. Driven. Determined. From the council estate, to severe racial abuse, and his father passing away. All before he was even aged 10. Persistence, drive, determination, resilience was calved into Ricky’s life before he even knew it. Little did he know life would throw more pain, struggle, suffering his way later on.. Fighting against all odds, in the pursuit for knowledge Ricky completed a BSc in Biomedical Science while working and saving his student loan. He was then able to pay the entire £9000 fees for his master’s degree and living expenses from over £18,000 he had saved during his 3-year BSc. This unrelenting drive became an obsession which would lead to a catastrophically broken mind due to childhood traumas manifesting for decades. The world offered no help to the hurt inner child, toxic academia being a large contributor to this malevolence. After leaving academia Ricky began to process and understand his trauma, have greater self-awareness and understanding of why. While doing so Ricky saw a problem while he was conducting an interview task for a potential employer: There are more and more biotech’s but who’s making their information understandable for all backgrounds? So, Point Science Analytics was born. PhD backed, Bullet point reports on biotech’s. Breaking down what they do, how they do it, and why. After a number of months and many conversations it was apparent, people wanted Ricky and his neuroscience expertise. In late May 2023 a pivot came, to technical due diligence on neuroscience startups for investors/VCs/family offices and biotech deal flow. Away from work Ricky loves Boxing, Weighted runs, Workouts, Philosophy, Buddhism, Stoicism. But also enjoys a whisky and cigar from time to time. Got this far?
