Starting my career at Accenture, working with a number of the largest global banks on the delivery of technology transformation programmes, I realised how much scope there was for large businesses to enhance their product and service by leveraging digital technology. This gap was accelerated when PSD2 (a European Directive to produce safer and more innovative payment services) became effective, accelerating the open banking movement. As banks did not capitalise on addressing this challenge and became a part of this movement, startups took the opportunity to address opportunities created as a result of this change in the financial services landscape. Having spent almost a decade delivering technology projects, I realised there was clearly a need to address a barrier that stood in the way of businesses trying to build new digital products that addressed changes in consumer needs and the broader industry within which they operated - there was an assumption that innovation is fraught with too much risk, requires too much time and involved venturing into uncharted territory that is not safe. I realised that an interdisciplinary delivery capability that brought in the necessary skills to deliver on blank canvas products, to a high standard, at speed and in a cost-effective manner would address this pre-conceived notion that innovation was scary, expensive and slow. In 2014, Studio Graphene was born, to help businesses deliver on their game changing ideas. We sought to centralise delivery of digital products for clients through our in-house team of digital strategists, creatives, user experience specialists, software engineers and analysts. Since its inception, the Studio Graphene team has grown into a talented and experienced group of more than 130 individuals skilled at ensuring clients can effectively bring their ideas to life, working at speed to deliver leading products that go beyond fulfilling our promises to clients. We’ve worked with banks, ambitious businesses and purpose driven startups and fintech services all around the world, with our portfolio stacked with the very best in design, engineering and domain expertise.
