The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is extra. As a producer and director, working to deliver results that might seem impossible to others isn’t just a job requirement, it’s part of my DNA. I got my start on a Hollywood film shoot taking place in my hometown, working up to a role with the production team by doing whatever it took to get the story told. Today as a Senior Producer and Business Development Executive at Mills James, an employee-owned event and production company, I work with Fortune 500 companies, startups and nonprofits all over the country. And I still spend every day doing what I love. With our expert creatives and video production professionals, we work closely with our clients to create experiences, not just traditional productions or events. It's an approach that allows me to indulge in both my creative and analytical side. We’re making art, but we also need to deliver on client goals. Keys to success include innovation, creativity and drive—and above all leadership. To me, leadership means seeing the value in collaboration. It requires: • relationship building: every project is unique, and I need to respond to each client’s specific needs • team building: organizing, mentoring and leading our teams to foster creativity while staying on track • new business development: finding new opportunities where our team can shine and inspire others with our work I admire the storytellers. It’s no surprise my favorite thing to do in my spare time is to watch movies. Film has been a calling, and I can think of no better way to unwind than with a powerful picture.
