After running my own businesses since leaving education, I moved into the corporate world and carved out a career in M&A; focusing primarily on helping firms raise venture capital. However, my passion really lay in business development and growing networks to facilitate opportunity. My own livelihood had previously relied on building a strong network, so coming into a corporate environment meant I could not only utilise my existing connections but grow and evolve my network in entirely new directions. The result of this was being able to consistently land clients, build the reputation of my firm in the marketplace as well as my own personal brand and set in motion business relationships that are still crystallising to this day. But - getting new clients in professional services isn't easy. It takes time, patience and confidence. I frequently came across colleagues and friends who were trying to develop their own networks and ultimately, leads, but were struggling to gain traction or even get started. After spending nearly 3 years running the sales team in a VC-backed tech startup, I decided to create a course that would help professionals develop their own powerful networks. Looking at what else was out there it all seemed to focus entirely on networking events, was not sector specific or was just of overall poor quality. My second observation was that, in order for someone to improve their networking skills, they need to focus on one step at a time and, in doing so, build confidence. ➖️The Result➖️ From this, www.mst.training was born. A logical, 3 step approach to building a powerful network. 1. Mindset Develop a robust self-confidence, break down barriers and realise the possibilities of what you are capable of in achieving “Professional Networker” status. 2. Strategy To develop a focused strategy that will enable you to spot and devise angles, and then initiate conversation with those individuals who represent key targets and see you as an expert in your field. 3. Tools Learn the innovative tools and approaches that you can use to deploy your strategy; nurture connections, establish a powerful referral system and construct a dynamic professional network. ➖️Who I work with and how➖️ I typically work with firms in the professional services sector. Training is delivered via Masterclass workshops, delivered in person at a location of your choice.
