Partner - Life Sciences Regulation

Mackrell Turner Garrett

Here, I set up the UK's first and only dedicated Cannabis Law department. As head of this department I advised several CBD brands, Licensed Producers, and Medicinal Cannabis companies on a range of regulatory and commercial issues, with a focus on the UK and Europe. In this role I developed unique expertise in the cannabis sector dealing with Licensing, Product Compliance, Import/Export best practice and Marketing Campaigns/Strategies.

Head of Cannabis Law

As head of the Crime and Regulatory Department at Mackrell Turner Garrett, I gained a wealth of experience in handling all types of criminal matters. This included general and complex crime, business crime and serious fraud. I also had significant experience representing clients subject to regulatory investigations and prosecutions. The criminal department provided proactive representation for all types of serious criminal defence matters.

I personally specialised in complex crime, serious fraud matters and confiscation proceedings (POCA). I have expertise in defending criminal prosecutions, including matters brought by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the National Crime Agency(NCA).  In addition, I also represent clients in relation to civil fraud claims in the High Court Chancery Division.

I worked as an associate solicitor for Rahman Ravelli in their London City Office. Rahman Ravelli is recognised as a leading firm in the fields of serious crime, serious fraud (including commercial fraud and business crime), regulatory matters and commercial litigation.

I specialised in complex crime and serious fraud matters. In addition, I also represent clients in relation to civil fraud claims in the High Court Chancery Division.

I have advised and represented a number of high profile clients in cases of a serious nature. I also represented detainees subject to extradition proceedings at court.

I trained and qualified as a solicitor at this firm in Tottenham. My work here included criminal matters, prison law matters and civil actions against the police. At this firm I became a fully Accredited Police Station Legal Representative (June 2006) and also a Criminal Duty Solicitor (January 2010)
