.JOB COMPLEXITY:  
  Responsible for implementation of complex architectural design of hardware, software and/or networking systems.  Analyzes systems and determines business requirements.  Ensures completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance.  Keeps informed of new technology. Follow and execute ITIL change management.  Contribute and organize the central store of knowledge.  Represents team in interdepartmental meetings.  Participates in systems/code reviews and design sessions.  Facilitates Root Cause Analysis sessions.  Evaluate changes using RPN methods and develop MOPs for changes.  Delivers brown bags/tech talks to internal groups Take full ownership of product life cycle.

SUPERVISION:  
  Receives little to no instruction on day-to-day work.  Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

Linux Systems Engineer I 

Always provide fanatical customer service. Provide configuration and troubleshooting support for systems maintained by Segment Support (e.g. Nimbus, Sophos, SCOM, WSUS, Active Directory, EM7/SL1). Troubleshoot on various Linux and Windows platforms. 

Work as part of a team and interact with our engineering, developer and support groups to identify and correct issues, increase efficiency and improve best practices. Ensure all tickets and phone calls are handled within appropriate time frames Perform periodic on-call duties as part of a team. Create and contribute to teams written documentation

Linux Operations Engineer II  Rackspace,  the #1 managed cloud company

Aided enterprise level customers with administration of dedicated / cloud and OpenStack instances of Linux (RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, etc.) and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS servers. This entailed maintaining security, system updates, application installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, user and group administration, cluster configuration and management (RHCS), VMware image creation and repair on EXSi hypervisors. 
Support to customers was provided through an online trouble ticketing system and also via phone and online chat system. 
As a part of system adminstration, the job also required enough knowledge to be able to setup additional storage to be configured and administered as needed for these servers.
