I love to work with business owners to achieve financial freedom and help them to do more of what they love - in their business and personal lives. More detail: 30+ year's experience working with businesses at Director level. I've worked with businesses of all sizes. Time has shown I work best within the SME market - defined as between 1-100 people. My background is software and technology so I provide Director Level CIO Support. In English - I ensure the business has the right Software Systems Strategy - off-the-shelf and/or bespoke - to help support and deliver the business owner's vision for growth and towards their eventual exit. Whilst clearly I and the companies I work with understand the importance of systems - especially when looking to scale/maximising the business valuation - there are so many other factors that are needed to achieve that. Sales + Marketing, People and of course sound financial planning and advice. My strength is truly understanding the vision of the business owner, doing everything in my power to gain and retain their trust and giving them implicit faith that I have their and their business's best long-term interests at heart. This allows me, where appropriate, to introduce the right people/business partners to support the transformation of their business and maximise the opportunity. How to sum up my role? An informal/formal mentor, a confidant, someone who will deliver success where I have the right skill set and introduce them to others where they are better suited. Most importantly, I ensure the business owner retains faith in their plan and whilst knowing there is always change and hard work involved, with the right approach, the overall journey can be fun and enjoyable. Personal Life With three grown-up children, my wife, Judy and I can spend more time riding - in Jude's case, that's horses, whereas I'm far more sensible and opt for a bike. Other shared loves are skiing, Ryder Cup - we were at Medinah and the British Lions - we have been lucky enough to go to New Zealand in 2005 and 2017.
