Business was South Wales Based and majority of positions were headhunted through our in house systems we invested in. I work with client companies, building relationships in order to gain a better understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements.

Mainly I attract candidates by drafting advertising copy for use in a wide range of media, as well as by networking, headhunting and through referrals. I screen candidates, interview them, do background checks and finally match them to their potential Employer. Additionally, I provide advice to both clients and candidates on salary levels, training requirements and career opportunities.

Permanent Recruitment Consultant - Commercial & Industrial

In the Cardiff Care Team I oversaw the recruitment for support workers to residential, tenancy support and hostel environments alongside unqualified care assistants to residential and nursing homes across Cardiff, Newport and the surrounding areas in the UK. 

Within this area of recruitment there is a huge dynamic in terms of the client groups care assistants and support workers we work with ranging from learning disabilities, dementia, physical disabilities, homelessness, children with challenging behaviours, Mental health or the elderly.

My role was a mixture of business development and fulfilment to ensure that the care homes were fully staffed by our agency support workers and careers at all times.

As a HR Advisor, I acted as a first point of contact for all HR enquires such as pay queries, disciplinarians, reward & recognition etc as well as answering all emails enquiries. I used the internet system Oracle on a daily basis to log all calls/actions. 
On return from travelling I was reemployed by MOJ to work as a Recruitment Advisor whereby I was logging job enquires, processing applications, liaising with vetting team, answering phone and email enquiries  and completing relevant job forms for the recruitment stages as a civil servant across the UK

I volunteered to work overtime on most weekends to be trained and help on the vetting team as the company had high volumes of work with privatisation occurring.

Promote from within or hire externally?
Most leaders get this wrong, and their teams pay for it later.


A few years ago, I watched a brilliant team leader get overlooked for a promotion.

She’d built the team.
Knew every client by heart.
Was the first to arrive and last to leave.

But the company decided to “bring in fresh leadership” instead.

New title.
Big salary.
Zero understanding of the team’s reality.

Within 6 months:

Morale dropped.
Two top performers left.
And the new leader was out the door.
