QAPCO

Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) is an affiliate of Qatar Petroleum & TOTAL. Worked as Process Engineer – Senior Staff in Process Engineering Dept. of QAPCO for Ethylene / Gas Treatment / Sulfur units.

	Responsibilities included providing process support to existing Ethylene units, trouble shooting, updating P&ID’s / PFD’s, preparing Basic Engg Packages for plant modifications, design checks, preparing equipment spec sheets, reviewing Management of Change proposals, participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Operability Improvements, undertaking process studies, Relief & Vent system evaluation, liasoning with technology licensor and catalyst / specialty chemical vendors.
	Proficient in Ethane, Propane & Naphtha feedstock based crackers.
	Performing process simulation using HYSYS simulation software.
	Familiar with API, ASME, Mobil, YANPET, SABIC & PIP Codes, Standards & Practices.
	Assisting existing debottlenecking / turnaround activities of QAPCO.
	Monitoring of Gas Treatment and Sulfur Recovery units.
	Participated in Change Management activities

PROCESS ENGINEER - SENIOR STAFF

SAUDI YANBU PETROCHEMICAL CO

Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Company (YANPET) is an affiliate of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). 
It is established as a 50:50 joint venture between SABIC and Exxon Mobil.
Worked as Sr. Process Engineer for Ethylene units in Process Engineering dept. of YANPET.

	Responsibilities included providing process support to existing Ethylene units, trouble shooting, updating P&ID’s, preparing Process Packages, reviewing & approving Management of Change (MOC) proposals, participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) & Risk Analysis, Operability Improvements, Relief & Vent system evaluation, preparing specification sheets for new equipments, liasoning with technology licensor / vendors and training local Saudi Engineers.
	Proficient in Ethane, Propane & Naphtha feedstock based crackers.
	Performing process simulation using Pro II simulation software.
	Familiar with API, ASME, Mobil, YANPET, SABIC & PIP Codes & Standards.
	Assisting existing debottlenecking / turnaround activities of YANPET.
	Carried out trouble shooting of major turbine fouling, spent caustic coalescer system operation problem & dilution steam system corrosion issue.
	Supported Ethylene Glycol turnaround / debottlenecking activities in 2004 as Turnover Co-ordinator.
	Completed survey of equipments susceptible to HIC (Hydrogen Induced Cracking) in Ethylene units.
	Proposed operating strategy for equipments exposed to temperature lower than MSOT during unit trips / outages.
	Participated in Strategy & Change Management activities

Started his career as Production Supervisor in the Polyethylene unit and at the time of exit was working as Assistant Manager in Olefins unit. Details follow:

Jan 2000 – Mar 2002: Assistant Manager Olefins Unit

Duties included managing a team of 60 personnel of the manufacturing unit to achieve production volumes and quality.

	Responsibilities included budgeting, preparation of management information reports, maintenance of ISO 9000 systems, man – management, training of existing and new personnel in field and control room operations, co-ordinate statutory inspection of equipments, plant start-up’s / shutdowns and execute plant changes & project proposals.
	Participated in Strategy & Change Management activities
	Familiar with Aspen Plus simulation software.
	Proficient in DCS and SCADA control system operations.
	Proficient with Boiler, Naphtha and Ethane Cracker operations & all related operations of Olefins Cracker unit including Hot and Cold side section operations.
	Proficient in Benzene & Butadiene units


Sep 1989 – Dec 1999: Assistant Manager Polyethylene Unit

Duties included managing a team of 40 personnel of the manufacturing unit.

	Updated drawings & manuals of Polyethylene Unit post de-bottlenecking.
	Provided logical inputs for interlocks from operation & control viewpoint for implementing ABB Taylor Mod 300 DCS control system for Polyethylene unit.
	Successfully commissioned extrusion of Anti-fibrillation Master Batch and Tearing / Non-Tearing Paper compound blends
	Executed Engineering Dept. restructuring as restructuring team member.
	Proficient in HOECHST suspension Polyethylene process & extrusion plant operations. Adept with Powder Silo Management & Twin Screw Extruders (W& P – ZSK type) with gear pumps.

Worked as graduate apprentice in R & D dept. on Polyurethane, Polyester and Chloral manufacturing pilot plant studies. Assisted research scientists in formulation and testing of pesticides.

He has attended several industrial training courses and participated in various Safety Study workshops. Familiar with Exxon, SHELL DEP, SABIC, ADNOC, GASCO & ZADCO standards & procedures.
