Over the past 20 years I lead two ecommerce businesses to €50M+/year. Started another 5, and helped and studied many others. With my friends and an amazing team we grew Sensilab from 4 EU markets to 22 in just 2 years, ultimately turning it into a leading EU dietary supplement house of ecommerce-first brands. At Studio Moderna, we built the ecommerce leg of an omnichannel business also across 22 markets, starting with an ecommerce team of 1 and growing that to 150+ across 22 local European offices. While working with Vision Healthcare, helping them grow multiple market-leading healthcare brands across Europe, I experienced almost every form of ecommerce possible. In general, I spent the last 20 years of my life growing ecommerce businesses, building and leading ecommerce teams, and studying ecommerce in all of its forms. And I made almost every mistake in the book, but learned, improved and grew with each of them. The most important thing I learned in over 20 years in ecommerce is this ==> Winning at ecommerce is not about "magic hacks", although they do help. And winning in ecommerce is really not about winning at ecommerce. It’s about winning at consumer value, with an equal mix of ecommerce/digital marketing expertise, operations, management and economics. My focus now is on holistic ecommerce strategy, leadership for growth, ecommerce management and economics. And of course, building new ecommerce startups. Oh, and I'm also obsessed with "extreme" vintage road cycling on gravel (Eroica!), with a nice mix of food and wine obsessions to boot.
