My passion for cooking was kindled in 1976, at the tender age of 16, in my grandmother Lucy's kitchen. Perched on a stool beside her, I was mesmerized by the way she lovingly crafted her Sunday gravy, a true masterpiece of taste. Those Sundays, spent absorbing her culinary wisdom, laid the foundation for my lifelong dream: to bring joy through my cooking. After her passing, I carried this dream into my professional journey, starting in local pizza shops and delis. My dedication and love for the culinary arts led me to a pivotal role as a Culinary Supervisor at the Sheraton in Philadelphia, under the Starwood Hotels umbrella. Here, I was fortunate to be mentored by two exceptional chefs, who not only honed my skills but also instilled in me the nuances of culinary excellence. My career with Starwood was a tapestry of diverse experiences, spanning 12 years and including task force roles across six renowned brands from Boston to Florida. This journey was enriched by a two-year tenure with Kimpton Hotels and a stint at an exclusive country club. In late 2017, a personal tragedy necessitated my return to New Jersey, marking a new chapter in my life. My passion for cooking, however, remained undiminished. With the support and encouragement of my life's greatest ally and love, I ventured into a new endeavor: owning and operating a Chefs for Seniors franchise. This venture not only fulfilled my aspiration to impact lives through food but also blossomed into a thriving business, a testament to our hard work and dedication. Chefs for Seniors is more than a business to me; it's a tribute to my grandmother Lucy and her enduring influence. It's about improving the lives of seniors through the power and comfort of food – a mission close to my heart.
