Hotel is "in the blood" for me. Having been brought up in hotels all my life and it is where my true passion lies and especially in the Bournemouth area. As a business we try to stand out from the crowd and being one of the largest independent hotels in Bournemouth helps us to achieve this. We have focused on trying to be one of the most accessible friendly hotels in the country and the feedback we get helps us to improve. We are the first hotel in England to have a changing places shower and toilet. We have ceiling hoists, profiling beds, wet rooms with equipment in 5 of our bedrooms. A sensory room, an iswim hoist for our outdoor pool to help guests in and out, a special food blender for special pureed diets and a wheelchair buggy with beach and forest wheels for our guests to use while holidaying with us. We have had an award winning time of it recent years. In 2022 we won a Catey's which is like the Oscar's of the hospitality industry for accessibility. In our local Coast with the most awards we won Gold in accessibility, business events & team of the year and a silver in large hotel. Over the last 8 to 10 years the hotel and team have won various awards for which we are extremely proud of. One of which was 2016 Dorset Business Awards we won the Business Engagement with Education award. The work we do with young adults to help them gain the experience they need to be able to go on and do apprenticeships and college courses is something we are all passionate about. But ............. even more shocking than that I was nominated and went on to win the Unsung Hero award at the Bournemouth Tourism Awards 2017. I am still completely amazed now and could only do the things I do with the support of the team at the hotel and my family. I am vice chair at present of the BH Area Hospitality Association. I also run Hotel GM & Director meetings for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and am on the Coastal BID committee. In March 2017 I also helped launch Bournemouth Hotel Watch with Dorset Police. I a won the 1st ever trophy for the National Coastal Tourism Academy Customer Service Award in 2014, Also I have been nominated for the NatWest Women's Venus Awards for Dorset 2014. I became a semi finalist for the "Professional of the Year" and am also a finalist for the "Customer Service Award". None of this would have been possible with the amazing team we have at the hotel and after such a turbulent time over the last few years with COVID-19 and the rise in the cost of living, they have all been more vital than ever.
